Here are a couple of interesting finds that I just came across. Maybe the second one should have been sung by this disgruntled hubby?

Wife strangled after tickling husband

A man, who was jokingly tickled in the foot by his wife while napping, got up and strangled her to death, a local daily reported Tuesday. The Persian daily Siasat-e Rouz said that Peyman M., 26 and a student in mechanics, was enraged by the joke and right then and there choked his wife Maryam, 25, to death in a Tehran district. He then fled home.

Police arrived at the murder scene on a tip-off from neighbors who had heard the screams of the woman, the paper said. They overtook the alleged murderer at a Tehran square and arrested him, it added. According to the paper, Peyman has pleaded guilty to the crime, saying he committed it out of rage.

"On the day of the incident, I got home very tired. I took a shower, then went to bed to take a nap. Just 10 minutes after dozing off my wife came beside me and tickled me in the foot. I was enraged and immediately strangled her," the paper cited him as recounting how the accident took place. According to Siasat, the man has been sent to jail...

Foot tickling saves baby

LOUISVILLE, Ky. (AP) -- Foot tickling helped save the life of a newborn baby who fell in the toilet when his mother gave birth in a fast-food restaurant's bathroom.

Tiandra Porter, 24, gave birth to the boy Wednesday at Wendy's. When Clinton Vestal Jr. and his boss entered the bathroom, Porter was on the toilet and the baby was submerged in the water.

Vestal fished the baby out with gloves and towels. He then used a mustard squeeze bottle to clear fluid from the baby's nose and mouth.

But the baby was still not breathing, Vestal said.

He pushed on the newborn's chest and patted his back to no avail.

"I finally tapped him on his feet, started tickling on his feet, and he let out a holler," Vestal said.

Porter said she was in shock because the baby was not due for another five weeks.

"I'm glad he was there," Porter said. "I wouldn't have known what to do."

Tragicly, I believe the first story. In the Middle East, women tend to be viewed as items of property rather than as individuals with their own rights. As such, abusing or even murdering one's wife is seen as being little different from punching or demolishing any other malfunctioning kitchen appliance. I recall stories from a last year about an Egyptian man who killed his wife for failing to make him a cup of tea immediately upon his request, as she was occupied by watching a once-in-a-lifetime eclipse at that moment.

But of course, their culture is just as valid as ours and we can't criticize such attitudes.

I remeber that story of the woman killed over a cup of tea..... in some mid-east countries, the family of the victim carries out the punishment. I hope this guy gets tickled to death as a sentence... maybe by older and younger sisters......
