We figured some of you don't want 3 or 4 separate $4.99 charges appearing on your credit card statement so we rigged up a way to purchase 3 video clips while only charging your card once.

PLEASE UNDERSTAND ahead of time that your passwords will not be operatioinal instantly as you first have to tell us which 3 clips you want to download. Then we will setup the passwords and email you that you're all set to download. We're usually pretty quick about it but it can take up to 12 hours.

Of course you can also continue to purchase the clips one at a time as you have been. And of course your passwords are alive instantly by doing it that way.

We've basically added this feature for those of you that may want to consolidate the charges as they appear on your statement.

Here's where you would start this new process

TIB, another thought or suggestion, ever thought about doing one of these buy by a group of minutes instead of say 3 clips? What I mean is it would actually be easier to pay for say 60 mins, 120 mins etc and then you can do all the viewing of any clips for your alloted time. I personally feel it would be easier to charge once for a large group of minutes then to pay for even 3 clips at a time. Just a thought.

hello there jpie.
easier said than done (at least for me) ha ha.
first most all of our clips are not just "for viewing." do you know what i mean? most of them are downloadable and keepable for to buyer. so im thinking how the heck would "a time span membership" work with those? it wouldn't because it would be like a race against time to see how many of the files the person could download. ha ha! see what i mean?

now your proposal would work if everything was streaming video and no downloads. also then, my next roadblock would be, i have no earthly idea what software would control "time spent on a site" and no earthly idea how to program or interface with such software. as far as i know its pretty hi-tech stuff. for me at least. 🙁

Another possibility

TIB,

I for one really liked the streaming videos you used to offer - I got to watch full vids without having to worry about getting a tape in the mail or keeping it at my place. I've looked at quite a few places that offer "timed" streams - the biggest 2 companies that have used the "purchase time for streamed movies" approach, as far as tickling goes, would be FMC and Paradise Vision, and each of them use separate companies (both of which cater to a variety of different companies and adult video preferences).

FMC uses a company called SurfNetCorp, while Paradise Vision uses a company called AEBN. Both are similar in that, at least it seems to me, that the companies take their video footage and store it with the host company, who then offers the streaming services. Surfnetcorp seems like they cater to the more individual customer, tailoring their service to the company that is requesting the service be set up - for instance, FMC and Harmony both use the same company, but Harmony has more time block options available for purchase, and also has separate lowband and broadband streaming available. AEBN, on the other hand, sets up a different subpage for every company listed, but the time block prices and streaming rates are standard (however, they offer quite a few more services, like streaming rentals, downloads, varying stream rates and formats, etc.) Also, their time is useable across any company that has videos with them, not just committed to any certain company. In both cases, I would assume that there is a set charge for the hosting capabilities, and that the individual companies pay for the hosting with the hoped for minutes that the consumer purchases (with AEBN, I would assume you would get the value of the minutes spent watching your product.)

Both companies seem to me to be designed for companies without a lot of web-based experience - in fact, I would say your own experience, in terms of setting up and maintaining a pay site, a streaming site, and downloadable clips makes you more than prepared to deal with either company. Plus, I'm sure you have a lot of footage you could offer for streaming. Personally, as an avid fan of your work, I would love to see it, and I'd be first in line if you actually took either route and set it up 🙂

Just thought I'd share, if you're interested.

dcb, thanks for taking the time to explain that. some of it i didn't know about. some i did. AEBN contacted us well over a year ago asking for our tickling content, saying it seems like its the best on the net, etc. we declined them because as i recall the pay rate to us was very low, something like 15% or something ridiculous. i mean we created the content. they're just streaming it. why should they make 85%? also since we're a small business we decided we kind of want to keep our content close to the vest ya know? so for now we're just going to stick with downloadable clips. its not nearly the same income as once before but it lets us spend time on the things we need to spend time on. thanks again for all your inside info. its nice to have friends who know things. 🙂 wait. its simply nice to have friends.

TIB,

No problem at all in sharing what little I know/surmised about the whole streaming thing. What I didn't know was that, at least in AEBN's case, they only offered 15% of the proceeds. That does sound like a ridiculously small amount of profit sharing for what seems to be simply a glorified hosting company. I could see where they'd offer less than someone like surfnetcorp - AEBN is the largest streaming company I know of, so I'm pretty sure their customer network is the largest, but still, only 15%? You probably made a wise call in turning them down, then.

For the same reasoning behind why I liked the streaming movies, I've got no problem with the downloadable clips except for the length. Call me a glutton, but the more content per clip, the better. I'd love to see the whole scenes as one long clip, uncut, like the really long ones on your current stream page, as opposed to cut up into smaller segments, like the clips in group 9 and the related ones offered for download. I'd like to see, for example, the tickling of Lenora as one long, interrupted clip than as 2-3 smaller ones, and based on some comments on the thread with the picture over in the image forum, I doubt I'm alone on that.

Anyway, do what you like with your content - I just thought I'd offer my opinion and give you some options you might not have considered. And I hope that one day soon that you might do the streaming thing again, if only so I can see some long content again 🙂

Hi TIB,

Thanks for the response and the explanation. Its nice to see you at least entertain other ideas. I understand not being able to do the pay for time streaming options now that you have explained. Another idea if it is not too difficult is letting someone pay for as many 5 min clips at a time as they would like, why stop at a bundle of 3? Is there a way for someone to choose the amount of clips they would like to purchase at once? If you want to help people along by not having so many entries on the Credit card statements why not give a pay for what you want option? And again remember this is just a suggestion, as far as how hard it is to setup or technical limitations I am not familiar with it.

Thanks!
JPie
