As Ness already knows I've been having some serious problems with my computer resulting in Photoshop refusing to load for me. I could re-install the program but I have a burned copy of the Photoshop 7.0 disc and lost the serial registration number. So unless someone has an extra serial number lying around I could use, I'm currently shit outta luck on anything I was gonna contribute to this. Attempts to download a serial number off a P2P program has been pointless....(I know I'm already coming down to the 2 week deadline. I'm FREAKIN OUT!!)

I mean most of the needed shots for the All American Girl are done, I just can't scan or color anything!!!

Chesire, I believe these problems started when you started when you cleaned up your computer with Ad-Aware, right? If so, we may be able to restore the files that it deemed infected and cure Photoshop.

Well.....with Nessies help (love ya!) I managed to reinstall photoshop.....of course it STILL isnt working and doing the exact same thing, loading halfway and then closing.....it just....doesnt want to work...

I MEAN I RE-INSTALLED THE WHOLE THING FROM SCRATCH!!! Why did this god damn bug have to go after the one program that was truly useful to me in what I do.....

I think I gonna cry now..... 🙁 🙁 🙁 🙁 🙁

Thank the lord for my un-thorough computer skills. As luck would have it, I never deleted Photoshop 6.0 when I installed 7.0. I didnt even realize it was still on my system and it still works perfectly! Its not a current version but it'll do....

I do happy dance now! deedily dee, deedily dee.....

Like I said, this'll be fine for now until I figure out whats wrong. As long as I can still do layers and stuff I'll be fine. I mean I was trained on Photoshop 3.0 waaaaaaay back in the day and every model since was essentially the same program with only a few added features....

Photoshop3? That's before my time, old-timer! 😛
I was hooked on Corel Photopaint for ages until it became painfully obvious that I was the only person in the westerm hemesphere using it. I used Photoshop 6 for a while and quickly moved to 7 since 7 seems to be lightyears ahead of 6. 🙂

I'm happy that you resolved the problem 🙂 i have a copy of PShop6, and is here on my Hd since 3 years ago.....sometimes i use it to remove red eyes or to modify an image for a website...that's all my knowledge lol 😀

Looing at your problem seems that you or a program deleted some dll (or the registry keys) used by photoshop, i suppose that with a little email to the producer of the program you can discover maybe if the problem is the program or something regarding the OS 🙂

Anyway installing and uninstalling the program don't fix the problem (i had the same problem in tha past with real producer 9...then i discover that the program didn't like the divx codec, so i bought the new codec and now it works well 😛 ), and is not good ot have 2 different versions of the same program on the same machine!!!!! i wonder if your pc is still working....and how much it will last LOL 😀😀

Photoshop is from Adobe, right? i bet that you had something else from adobe (acrobat or any other program), and maybe you uninstall it , right? suddenly when you remove a program that has some shared dll is easy that your registry and/or your "system32" folder is Fuc**D 🙂 the best thing is to re-install windows from scratch, without installing programs that you don't use 🙂 and install the pShop.....if some programs are in conflict with it you will see because when it will not start again you can recognize the last action that you did, so you will know where is the problem 😀

For any problem i'm here 😀 sadly we are not close...usually i fix problems in less than 30 minutes if i can use the computer...but via firum is a little bit complicated LOL
