Due partially to the ammount of hits my last Predator sketch got net-wide and people asking for more, and because I've been meaning to draw another, I drew another sketch. ^^

Here we have a Huntress Temple Guard who hears a rustle in the bushes and is prepared to deal with it, if necessary, armed with her claw blades and halberd. I had to improvise on some things, since I had no reference material, but I think it works anyway. You may notice the blades on her wrist weopon seem wavy on part of them. Thats actually because I accidentally spilled a little tea on the paper. ^^;

Yes, she's topless. 😛 I decided I didn't want to be politically correct. I find it really hard to believe an alien race made of tough hunters cares so much about covering up their female's chests or the females themselves care to. While I'm sure they have clothing in their society, on hunts and on duty I doubt there is much need for them as clothing would only slow them down I would think.

Anyways, enjoy. ^___^

Thanks for the mask on her face! *lol* 🙂
Weird, but artistically great, thanks!

In addition to the mask giving the females especially a mysterious, sleak, fast and sharp look, its also of course necessary to enhance their vision spectrum and use the data information the mask provides, etc.

And of course it helps with their appearance, LOL. But I'm going to draw them without the masks as well sometimes, and I have my ways of making them more feminine and less ugly than their male counterparts. If this much was capable, refining their faces shouldn't be too difficult. 🙂

And realistically, I'd imagine this is the kind of build the females have anyway, at least the warriors/hunters. Thin and curvey, but strong, built, firm and toned.

Thanks. 🙂

Kind of off subject, but have you ever read the Alien vs Predator novels? If you've seen the movie, the main woman is based on the character in the novels, who in the novels actually goes off with the Predators and becomes a huntress. It's quite interesting, and the descriptions in these novels might give a bit of idea into what the female and young Preds are like.

Anyway, more on topic -- love the pic. ^^x

Yeah, I've known about that for years, since I was a kid. Discriptive terms in novels can only do so much however, though they are helpful. One thing I love about being an artist is always having the freedom to draw things as you would like. Not that I want to take too many artistic liberties. I definitely want to maintain that feel that the predators have, but in my own way and style.

It wasn't off topic to bring it up, don't worry about it. And thank you. 🙂

Did you see my other recent Love Hina update? Its a few threads down from this one. 🙂

I did. I should have posted on it actually. The thing is, I never really like characters that smoke much, and I never really liked Haruka that much. I was amazed at how cute you made her look to be honest!

No offense, but you're not going to comment on art just because the character smokes? Its not like you're glorifying smoking by supporting the art, or me, or even the character.

Haruka looks even better than I can draw her. I would hope your personal bias, even for an animated character isn't based soley on the fact that she smokes. That does seem rather shallow....no offense of course. And its the first time I've ever heard that as a reason for someone not posting. But ok.

It just makes me wonder if you'd feel the same way for actual people in this world...

Well, I won't lie to you. I think I am a bit biased when it comes to characters that smoke (although there are smoking characters I do like, I just have to like them enough to ignore that initial fact. Spike from Cowboy Bebop is one I like). But still, I've been friends with lots of people who smoke. I still don't like it, and I wouldn't want to date or live with someone who smokes -- but it doesn't decide if I like a person. I guess it doesn't make sense that I see people and characters differently...but there you go.

Still, Haruka never really stood out as anything special to me. I don't know why, I just guess she isn't my type of character. Oh well, can't like everything.

Like I said, I should have replied anyway -- but I'm just lazy/busy in that contradictory sort of way. 🙄

LOL, I'm just hassling you a little. 🙂

Haruka is a hard character to find appeal in because she's considered a minor character and what she does it seems she does behind the scenes. One of the facts of anime, even regular movies even is that a great deal of what happens in the things we do not see or see very little of involving these characters proves to be a part of the fiber which keeps the main characters going.

Star Wars for example. If you think about it, Emperor Palpatine is the main character and the one whom puts the 'War' in Star Wars. He is the one who presents this situation to the galaxy, and it reacts accordingly.

In a similar way Haruka is the person people go to when they need help, guidance, or advice. She's a minor character whose involvement has an impact, and isn't as recognized for it because of her alloted place in the series itself. I'm sure alot more people would like Haruka if there was more air time dedicated to her, or more panel time in the manga.

And so, because of her allotment, only people who seek to find something special in the minor characters actually do.

So I'm not penializing you for not like her. Your smoking comment is validated, though I did not understand it at first and am glad you explained it in clarity.

Haruka, in my opinion, is not just about what she does either or how she thinks. She's arguably one of the most attractive characters in the show. She's got a unique hair style, and because she's older than the others, a more mature body thats fully developed. They wouldn't need to exagerate her proportions the way they sometimes need to for some of the younger characters.
