OK all, here's how this works:

I'll start by naming something that happened in 2000. Then the next poster states something that happened in 2001, the next will post a fact from 2002, etc. When we get to 2008, we'll start over again at 2000.

2000: Survivor debuts on CBS

2001: In an outrageous act of war, genocidal Jihadists murder over 3,000 Americans on September 11. :Grrr: :Grrr: :Grrr:

2002: The LA Lakers win the NBA Finals for a third straight year, sweeping the New Jersey Nets 4 games to none.

2003: United States invades Iraq, topples the regime of Saddam Hussein.

2005: YouTube. A fabulous gateway to some pretty snazzy tickling videos. 😉

2006 Saddam Hussein is executed, but not by a stingray as Steve Irwin was the same year. Wow, this seems like yesterday.

2007: Ohio suffers probably its most heartbreaking sports year:

January - OSU gets throttled by Florida 41-14 in National Championship Game
April - OSU loses the Men's Basketball Final, again to Florida, 84-75
June - Cleveland Cavaliers swept by Spurs in NBA Finals
July - Columbus Destroyers lose Arena Bowl
October - Cleveland Indians lose ALCS to Red Sox after being up 3 games to 1
December - Cleveland Browns go 10-6 and still miss playoffs

2008: This epic thread of epicness was created. Mwawr. ^^

^Maybe you need to start An Ohio Losing Thread.^:jester:

This was the year that Ohio State won a major football game by beating the University of Miami in a 31-24 double overtime victory in The Fiesta Bowl.

2004: Dodgers win the NL West :couch: but don't reach the World Series. 🙁

2005: At least 1,836 are killed, and severe damage is caused along the U.S. Gulf Coast, as Hurricane Katrina strikes coastal areas from Louisiana to Alabama, and travels up the entire state of Mississippi (flooding coast 31 feet/10 m), affecting most of eastern North America.
