....blimey, well what can I say??? I looked very hard for a nice pic of Bill with three "Ho,s" draped round his neck, or snarling menacingly at a piano keyboard but without success. He freely admitted at one stage to never having owned a fire arm of ANY KIND!!! how uncool can you get?? he said something about them "not recording very well".

He plays something called a "musical instrument" and (get this!!) you dont plug it in!!! apparently you have to press the keys down with your own fingers. Thats just a law suit waiting to happen if you ask me. Worst of all, it takes more than three and a half minutes to learn how to work it, this needs something called " an attention span some what in excess of that normally associated with a gold fish"

"Proper Bo! ah tell thee!"

LOL

Red, I gotta tell you, you are one of the funniest people on this forum. 😀

Don't let him fool you, Krokus. He's a damn mess with a cute outside. 😉

Bill Evans. I turned Red onto him about a year or two ago with this album Live from Paris.😛 hehehe Check it out. It's AMAZING! It's one of those albums that seeps into the heart of even those people who might normally doze off during anything that required sheet music to play. 😉

Bill Evans' very being is shared with you through the wavelets of energy floating to your ears.

*sigh* Just had to put it in the CD player.

Hey Red, darlin'....hehe...respect!

I've been meaning to pick up some Bill Evans, mainly the box set "The Last Waltz". (no, not The Band's collection of the same name)
I hear the music on this box is absolutley tremedous and Bill plays with total passion despite the fact he was gravely ill and was close to the end of his time on earth.

Blimey Charlie!!!!.........

.....at last a few Americans who know something about Jazz!! I was starting to wonder if all my jazz books had got it wrong and that jazz was born in Canada.

Terrorizer mentions Gill Evans, I have many of his albums especially the Miles Davis collaberations. I have yet to get myself a copy of "The last Waltz" Drew, I must put that right soon!

I am of course eternally gratefull to Jo Belle for turning me on to Bill Evans, it seems barely credible that a life long jazz fan and jazz piano player like me could have never heard of him!🙄 ....which of course it is.

So I am well chuffed now, a Bill Evans thread on the TMF, top bannana!! proper bo! ah tell thee.

Yeah I just don't know how you manged to miss him, petite bebe.. He's right fine. 😉

I found an online radio station today tat had like 8 songs back to back of the man with the hands of a god.

That sounds like a damn good radio station, Joby. Gonna definetly pick up some Bill Evans music once I get through my 2 most recent purchases: a Slim Harpo 2 cd set and a live Charles Lloyd Quartet album.

I've got "Sketches of Spain", Red. Need to add "Miles Ahead", "Porgy and Bess", and "Quiet Nights" to the collection.

Drew

Bill who? Is he a relation to Ginger Chris of the same surname? I should hope so.

Anyway, yeah. Sub-amusing, Red. Now, if you'll excuse me, my synthisizer has finished recording my next number one, I must go and listen to it now and *refine* it with some proper bo techno beats... 😉
