I am disappointed that Kershaw's worst outing of the year came in yesterday's elimination game.
Nevertheless, I rejoice at his season as a whole, which out to get him another Cy Young Award.
I am disappointed that the Dodgers didn't win the NLCS. Nevertheless, I would give them a grade of B for 2013. (My complete scheme for grading baseball seasons is below. I do NOT agree that winning a Division title is meaningless; the six teams that do so have earned an honor not shared by the other 24 teams.)
It is worth noting, for those who disparage the 2013 Dodgers, that the
putrid motherfucking hated jints bastards had a far worse season.
The Dodgers were 92-70, finishing first in the NL West.
The
putrid motherfucking hated jints bastards were 76-86, finishing tied for 3rd/4th in the NL West, ahead of only Colorado.
Looking at all 30 major league teams, the
putrid motherfucking hated jints bastards at 76-86 were tied for 18th/19th place.
Finally, if one views the baseball season as "all or nothing," meaning that any team that does not win the World Series has failed, then:
The
putrid motherfucking hated jints bastards were
total and complete FAILURES for their first HALF CENTURY in S.F.
Appendix: My grading scheme for baseball teams
Winning the World Series: A+
Getting into the World Series, but losing it: A
Getting into the League Championship Series (LCS), but losing it: B
Getting into post-season play, but not into the LCS: C
Finishing over .500, but not reaching post-season play: D
Finishing exactly at .500: D-
Finishing below .500: F
The Dodgers grade this year is B.
Next year, if Ramirez is healthy all year and with Puig more mature, I hope for better.
And what grade is assigned to the
putrid motherfucking hated jints bastards?
F!!!
