The Atlanta Braves fifth starter, Kenshin Kawikami, pitched another frustrating game tonight, again giving a "quality start" of six innings, and allowing only three runs, in the Braves 6-4 loss to the Marlins. Tonight's game dropped Kenshin's record to 0-7 on the season. Brutal.

Do any baseball fans remember a guy by the name of Anthony Young, who pitched mainly for the Mets in the early 1990s? Young pitched for some bad Mets teams back then. Mr Young lost 27 straight decisions in a row, still a major league record, in spite of having about a 3.75 ERA. Young lost 14 straight games to end one year, and thirteen in a row to open up the next year, before finally picking up a win, his only one of the season. His career record was only 15-48, in spite of a respectable 3.89 ERA.

Kenshin reminds me of Anthony Young. He went 7-12 last year with an ERA under 4, and, while his ERA is over 4 this year, he's given many quality starts, and just has not been able to win a game. His combined record over the last year and two months is a pathtetic 7-19.

With the injury to Braves starter Jair Jurrgens, it's unlikely manager Bobby Cox can remove Kenshin from the rotation. It will be interesting to see if he can ever win a game. This guy Kenshin has the worst luck since.. Anthony Young.

Anthony Young was NOT that good. But who has the worst luck? Mitchell stop complaining. The worst luck belong to Roy Oswalt who is sitting at 2-6 with an ERA of 2.66. He has had 9 starts and all of them quality starts. He is striking out a batter an inning and his WHIP is 1.07. Oswalt with those numbers should be no less than 8 wins. And you want us to feel bad for a guy with an ERA 4.93? A WHIP of 1.38? Let's see...ummm...no. I feel sorry for Oswalt. Oswalt has given up 2 earned runs or less in 5 of his 9 outings and is 2-3. Sorry Mitchell...cry to fans that don't know.

4u, I agree with you about Oswalt. 2-6 with a 2.66 ERA is unreal

Most guys with ERA;s under 4 dont have as bad of a record as Young did. In 1992 and 1993, offense wasnt as prevelant as it is today, and the Mets were also pathetic back then.

KK does have a high ERA, but, look at Derek Lowe, his ERA is nearly five, and he has six wins. The Braves just dont score runs for KK, and he has pitched in bad luck.

As you probably heard, Oswalt wants to be traded. One of the teams, ironically, that he wants to be traded to, is the Braves, but we cant afford him. The writers of the Atlanta Journal Constitution predict that Oswalt will end up in Philly. He'll get some wins there, as that lineup will score runs for him, unlike the Astros.
