Printed in The Detroit News:
"Red Wings defenseman Nicklas Lidstrom has been named NHL Player of the Decade by The Sporting News.
Lidstrom, a six-time winner of the Norris Trophy as the NHL's best defenseman, won the award over New Jersey Devils goalie Martin Brodeur.
"Nick is your best player in training camp," Red Wings vice president Steve Yzerman told the magazine. "He's your best player in preseason. He's your best player in the regular season. He's your best player in the playoffs. I'm not sure what else he could do."
Detroit's Mike Babcock was named Coach of the Decade, general manager Ken Holland was named Executive of the Decade, and the Wings were named NHL Team of the Decade."
Great job guys, let's hope they continue!
Season starts next week!
