The Difference between Liberals, Conservatives and Rednecks

Situational Issue:

You're walking down a deserted street with your wife and two small children. Suddenly, a dangerous looking man with a huge knife comes around the corner, locks eyes with you, screams obscenities, raises the knife, and charges. You are carrying a Glock .40 and you are an expert shot. You have mere seconds before he reaches you and your family. What do you do?

Liberal Answer:

Well, that's not enough information to answer the question! Does the man look poor or oppressed? Have I ever done anything to him that would inspire him to attack? Could we run away? What does my wife think? What about the kids? Could I possibly swing the gun like a club and knock the knife out of his hand? What does the law say about this situation? Does the Glock have an appropriate safety built into it? Why am I carrying a loaded gun and what kind of message does this send to society and my children? Is it possible he'd be happy with just killing me? Does he definitely want to kill me or would he just be content to wound me? If I were to grab his knees and hold on, could my family get away while he was stabbing me? This is all so confusing! I need to debate this with some friends for a few days to try to come to a conclusion.

Conservative Answer:

BANG!

Redneck's Answer:

BANG! BANG! BANG! BANG! BANG! BANG! BANG! BANG! BANG! click... (sounds of reloading). Wife: "Sweetheart, he looks like he's still moving, what do you kids think?" Son: "Mom's right Dad, I saw it too..." BANG! BANG! BANG! BANG! BANG! BANG! BANG! BANG! BANG! click. Daughter: "Nice group, Daddy! Were those the Winchester Silver Tips?"

You do realize that true liberals (i.e. - Libertarians) support gun rights and often like guns...

I must congratulate you on a joke that demeans thinking before acting though. Very clever wit... Perhaps you should write for the 700 Club or Bill O'Reilly. I'm sure pre-emptive strikes are the kind of world-endangering policies that fit right into your black-and-white logic.
 
News Flash: it was a joke. Dumbass. A joke. Don't bring that BS into a thread like this. There is already enough of it going on all around the forums.

That somewhat overzealous statement was uncalled for and out of line. If you had taken a moment to do a bit of thinking yourself, you would have taken note that the joke took aim at all three groups.

As is generally the case in a JOKE (i.e. humor, not to be taken seriously) the punchline falls at the end of the joke. The main target in this case being the redneck wherein the daughter comments on the bullets. The humor lies in fact that one usually does not see a young girl who does such, with as much knowledge displyed in this joke. That last bit adds a bit of the ridiculous to an already over the top situation.

As far as the Conservative angle, one sees that the joke pokes fun at the very thing that you state (in your insult toward me over this joke) Conservatives are generally labeled by Liberals as being quick to act before fully thinking through a situation to the end consequences. Thus the "BANG!" The humor here can be found in that there was ZERO thought. Thusly, we mock the Conservatives.

As far as the thin skinned whiney liberals, well...you provided the punchline to that all by yourself. Thanks.

Well said, Joby...I apologize for calling you a dumbass, MrMacphisto, it's just that i get so sick and tired of the political arguments that arise here. I come here to escape things like that, lol. Anyhow, I realize that people have the right to talk about whatever they want, and If I don't like it, I can just staw away from it. However, this thread intrests me greatly, because it's funny!
