Recently, Hiram posted something that led me to believe what he was describing was the female "giggle fit"...
We females tend to get them for the darndest reasons...sometimes I can be lying asleep beside my husband at night and suddenly wake up and somewhere in my groggy cranium I recall something that happened years ago, or yesterday or that evening, and it is so funny my body wants to just crack up then and there. Usually, I try and muffle it in the pillow, but inevitably, my hubby (who can hear a Kleenex ruffle in the room!) wakes up...and there is just something funny about seeing the profile of his head lift off the pillow just so in the dark as he begins to realize what's going on...
In the early days of our marriage, I'd try and stifle the giggling and he'd just try and sleep through it, but the bed bounced so much, that now days he just sits up on his side and says, "Ah! I see you're having a giggle-fit. Come on...let it out..."...and now will even indulge in making it worse by tickling me!
When at dinner one night with some other couples, and the guys were swapping stories about the things they had least expected in a marriage, "giggle fits" were at the top of the list....
Likewise, for us females, the expression on our husband's faces of puzzlement, amusement or worse-when they decided to really ham it up and send us an over-the-top-exaggerated-dumbfounded look, will just send the giggle-fit to new heights...
Don't know why we females are wired this way...but I can admit to it being part of the wiring from childhood, as there were many a slumber party that were interspersed with mass-giggle fits for no really good reason...
Guess its just something we females don't outgrow? :blush :blush :blush
But the only thing that seems to work to stop it, (other than letting it run tis course), is for the female to be tickled. My hubby finds this "speeds up" the process by wearing me out faster.
Sooo...here's my question to the other females on here...
Do you get unexpected giggle-fits, and if you do, does your partner find tickling seems to hurry the process along?
