Hi again! This is the 'ler poll that goes along with the 'lee one.
I would love it if you would help me satisfy my curiosity. To find out your love language, go to http://www.5lovelanguages.com/assessments/love/ and take one of the quizzes (husbands, wives, singles). Then vote in the poll on this thread IF YOU ARE A 'LER.
I just read a fascinating book. I started it last night and couldn't wait to finish it this morning. The book is The Five Love Languages by Gary Chapman. Ten minutes after finishing it, I'm writing this post because I am highly curious how it relates to our world of tickling.
In short, Chapman suggests that each of us has a primary "love language," a way in which the words and actions of others cause us to feel loved (or not). The five languages he identified through counseling couples are Words of Affirmation, Quality Time, Receiving Gifts, Acts of Service, and Physical Touch. So as an example, if you think you are showing your significant other that you love them by doing their laundry, they will feel loved if their primary love language is Acts of Service, and not particularly get much out of it (other than clean clothes) if their love language is Quality Time and they really want you sitting on the couch talking to them.
I've been a 'lee ever since I remember, and I wasn't a bit surprised to find out that my primary love language was Physical Touch. But I'm wondering -- is that just me, or is that common to many 'lees? And what about the 'lers out there? Is there something in the five languages that is common to what 'lers get out of tickling?
