Some time ago I started a thread entitled “The Four Categories” and was pleased with the dialogue that transpired (http://www.ticklingforum.com/showthread.php?t=105919). In the name of continuing education, Strider and I have continued this dialogue and exploration and determined there is a sub-category for the “Sensualist” which we left out.

First, a quick review of the original categories:

SEXUALIST:

This is a person who is sexually turned on by tickling and wants to eventually have his/her traditional sexual organs gratified, most likely via direct stimulation, leading to orgasms. The most intense of all.

SENSUALIST:

This person enjoys the journey more than anything and prefers the focus to remain on tactile stimulation. Reaching the zone and/or experiencing orgasms are a bonus and not necessarily achieved through traditional sexual organs. The most experimental of all.

LOVER:

This person wants to be seduced and views tickling as part of the love-making process and hopes to develop a monogamous relationship with their tickling partner. The most serious of all.

ROMANTIC:

This person treats a tickling scene almost as a first or second date with cute flirty light ticking and dialogue and extras such as quick kisses (more so in privates) etc. The most playful of all.
Sub-Category: The Player: Pure innocent fun and just silly good old times, a la, wresting with your best childhood buddy.

And the new sub-category for “Sensualist: is: (drum roll please):

THE PERFORMER:

Often a sensualist in public play. Again, it is about the journey, but the travel mates include not just the play partners but an audience as well. Much like an actor or musician feeling the vibe and interaction from a live audience, and using that energy to fuel and direct his performance, the performer hopes to have an impact, whether it is emotional or pure entertainment with those witnessing the scene. They view what they do as an art, and have to have a relatively sophisticated understanding of what they're doing. They also make a point out of embracing the fantasy aspects completely, and while sensualists tend to be the most likely to push their own limits, the performers tend to know their limits relatively well and are more willing to push the limits of those around them, but staying within the comfort zones.

It's being a part of the whole Hollywood scene. Certain things just sort of seep into you. There's also a downside of sorts to it. I've recently begun to occasionally hear the terms 'club Dom', or 'you club people', as opposed to being genuine lifestylers (still waiting for my membership card). Generally though, that's just reserved to a few malcontents.

I agree in that the location and the established club scene opened a lot of doors for me that would not have been opened elsewhere. And I do have to admit, I am probably one of those "club people" as I don't really wear the same type of clothing and have the same attitude outside the club as I do inside. But then, that is the beauty of the club and the club scene. Especially the performance aspect, it does make it more special.

But as one fellow LA guy pointed out, that at breakfast and other times, we may not all be in our fetish wear, doing the play, but we are all still friends and having a good time.

Well, I don't dress the same way outside of the clubs either (mainly because I'm too lazy to put that much effort into things on a daily basis), but my mindset on this lifestyle doesn't change. The reason I brought this up as because when you're in an environment that's a nighclub which is frequented by some lifestylers as opposed to play parties at Threshold or the Lair which are held by and for lifestylers, then in the former, many people are not going to pay attention to (or even know about) some of the customs that would be taken for granted at the latter. So, when I'm with my girl at one of the clubs, she understands she can aggressively deter individuals who make her uncomfortable, which appparently can be a bit shocking to some who take their protocols ultra-seriously in all situations. Like I said though, this is only a few individuals who think this way, most lifestylers, whether they they themselves are into the clubs or not, understand that in that sort of environment, 'protect the property' is the prime directive.

Threshold. Wow. My lovely godiva taught a bellydance class there and I went with her. It was a cool place but almost too server for my comfort zone. Not trying to judge or compare, but I could see myself being more restrictive with what I do and with whom there.
