My first published story.
I am not great at English. Writing the laughter and tickle talk is especially hard. Hope my stylization for old-fashioned fantasy history worked well.
This is greatly inspired by Paszkowt's Klittlar legends http://www.ticklingforum.com/showthread.php?292220-Kittlars-Introduction-m-f
I do not support the sexism and nonconsent (and heteronormativity? Mononormativity? The list is long) of the story (nor the imperialist racism or anti-masturbation stance (and more) of those recounting the story).
Tale fragments recorded (and translated adequately) of people living in savannas of Exisarvan, about their two gods (or otherwise figures of worship): Kash, seemingly connected to the sun, fire, heat, passion and strength, and Yasda, seemingly connected to the moon/earth, water, cold, tranquillity and compassion.
…and Kash saw Yasda, and grew to understand her. Their opposite natures complemented each other, fitting perfectly. A connection was created. They fell in love, the strongest form of it possible.
And their bodies were combined too, for a time. They experienced the Greatest Pleasure.
The temporary fusion created life inside Yasda, as The Pleasure does.
After pregnancy, she bore children.
Yasda loved their children deeply, and Kash was proud of their creation, and looked forward to what they would achieve.
They taught the children about the sky and water, and Kash gifted them his power over fire…
…
…And Kash told them: "this is the Greatest Pleasure, that we discovered, and is the source of your life. The Greatest Pleasure is the expression of great love, connection between souls, between the natures of a man and a woman. Making them a husband and a wife. This is another gift I give you, but it is limited. The bond is hard to forge, and forging many at once is impossible"…
…
…"Touching your own body, on all its parts, in any way, is harmless and allowed. But you should not touch the sacred parts of another, unless you are husband and wife"…
…
…Yasda was distant, and bleak. Her normal serenity, lack of passion growing from peace, replaced by apathy.
"What happened? Don’t be sad"
"I am the essence of tranquillity, I am never sad"
"Well, don’t be grumpy either. I made this cool thing, it’s called Sword. And if you don’t care about it, there is always the default option, you should fulfill your role as a wife. We didn’t greatest-please [had sex] in a long time"
"What about our children…" she replied, almost too apathetic for her voice to be questioning.
"They are doing great! On many fronts! Pleasure is one of them, certainly"
"No. Only the chosen few. Those who already found their second half. What of those who didn’t, yet? Who never will, because a perfect match doesn’t exist for them? Of those who died too young? Or those whose half died, leaving them worse than before?"
"Well, in the second case they can remarry-"
"If they find a fitting soul for the second time, which is near impossible. And those who cannot have children, or cannot become parents, an inherent part of the Greatest Pleasure”
"Well, uh, there are other good things in life! Food, songs, beautiful sunrises and sunsets-"
"Not enough for true life, nothing compared to the Greatest Pleasure. Love. Not everyone has it. Brothers and sisters, boys and girls whose bodies are vigorous and compatible, they have no love”
"They care for each other and help-"
"Friendship, not [romantic love (great distinction in the languages of Exisarvan)]. True love. The source of their life, our bond, our connection, our existence as two halves. Most of our children, even those who do have a bond, cannot even dream of it. You do not understand how empty your life would be without it at all. I do, and maybe you will in the future"
"What do you mean?"
"Solve the problem. You always create things, invent. Find a solution"
"Otherwise you will just sit here and not please me? Wait, you mean you are trying to intentionally feel the same way they do, hollowing yourself?"
"Yes, to both"
"Just to prove a point?"
"Out of compassion to them"
"You are such a silly girl, you know. Suffering wouldn’t make their life any better. Just stop it, do something good instead. I know the Pleasure will cheer you up. And then we could look at some of your favourite pond flowers, or caves, that you wanted to show me"
"No, such is my will and nature"
"Silly and stubborn nature. But I still love you”
He hugged her. Her face remained stonelike.
He tried to reach her sacred part with his hands. She stopped him, calm but quick and strong.
He tried to massage her back, as she liked, but still to no avail, she was committed to remain bleak until Kash finds a solution to the bleakness of others.
Kash had a quick and creative mind, not suitable for fulfilling the requests of others, but great at achieving his desires.
He massaged her body, the body he was so familiar with. He tried something he never did before, influencing her life-lines [nerves] in a new way.
He caressed her belly.
Her lips twitched.
He pressed fingers into her armpits.
"What are you doing?"
He blew air into her ear.
She smiled slightly, not understanding why.
He danced her fingers upon her feet.
"Wahahat is thihis?!" she laughed, confused and starting to become scared.
Kash didn’t answer. He continued working on her body. Conquering her soul. Forcing the emotions she suppressed out of it. Forcing her to laugh, even if she didn’t want to. Making her cry some tears, as while she was hollowing herself, she rejected grief as much as joy. Exhausting her body and will, to make her do what he wants instead of her new weird nonsense. And punishing her a little, with mirthful hysteria and delightful torment, for her stubbornness and refusal.
"Whose a happy giggly girl, ahh?"
"STAHAHAP! Plehehese!"
"Do you promise to be a good girl?"
"Yees! Hhaaa!"
"And do what I tell you, and be happy instead of grumpy, and please me as a wife should?"
"Yes just, stop…please” she answered through exhausted laughter.
He stopped, going back to normal massaging. She liked the massaging.
Then to the Greatest Pleasure he wanted in the first place. She liked that too. And she did love Kash.
"But still, the children. The problem didn’t disappear" Yasda whispered to Kash, cuddled in his arms, watching the sunset.
"Well, uh, I solved it. Just now"
"What you did to me? The laughter"
"Yes! I think it would be…the Second Pleasure! After the greatest one. It is somewhat like the Greatest Pleasure, and has a connection, but a lesser one, doesn’t require souls and bodies to touch so deeply.
Any of our sons could do it to any of our daughters. Or even several of them. Or several sons to one daughter at once, on different parts of the body. Or daughters to other daughters! Wow, the possibilities are endless, I am such a genius"
"Are you sure?"
"Of course I am! Didn’t you like it?"
"It was…intense, but…I think I did"
"See! It’s fun. It would make our daughters happier, less grumpy. Less bitchy, which they sometimes are. Less stubborn and more obedient to our sons, like they should be. Like you are, now. You are so cute when you laugh. I never realized how little you laughed, before. Love you". Kiss.
She kissed back.
"And nothing stops them from adding the Second Pleasure to the Greatest Pleasure, you know? Just like we did. I think it will work great together. If it doesn’t, I might change their blood across generations [probably refers to the heritage transformation know as Evolution], to make it work better. To cross the life-lines in the right way, so the pleasures combine. Do you remember we talked about blood-change?"
"I do. It’s such a fascinating topic. Harder to change in our children than in vegetables, is it not?"
"Harder, yes, but still possible. It’s late, but tomorrow morning we should go to our children and tell them. I invented letters, and you taught them to read, but you know they decided to write everything we tell them on one single rectangle? Our children are brilliant, almost as much as me. Anyway, we should tell them. Say it right, to impress them, it’s an important milestone, an important message. Something like I granted my daughters bodies and life-lines, that hide helpless laughter, for everyone to discover. You shall Second-Please [tickle] your mothers and sisters, your wives and your daughters, to fill the world with mirth. So I command you. And I will of course do it to you every day, just as I ask of them. What do you think?”
"It sounds good, maybe" Yasda was uncertain, her expression thoughtful "I don’t know if all the consequences would be good. If the daughters can withstand the intensity as I could. And unlike the Greatest Pleasure, it is different for the one touched than the one touching…it is loving the way only you are loving, selfishly…your creation, not creation resulting from our equal fusion…I worry for our daughters!"
"You always worry about them! They will cope. And you are being a stubborn girl again, little killjoy!"
"Wha-haha! Not agahahain Kash, I caan’t!”
He second-pleased her again.
And then first-pleased her again.
Yasda could/did not [translation ambiguous] refuse.
Addendum:
Many of the stories about the (usually) two gods of Exisarvan are told in a primitive likeness of a theatre, which every settlement in Exisarvan has. The specific myth about the supposed creation of tickling, being dialogue heavy, is almost always played by a male and female priest pair, acting the roles of gods, and temporarily "becoming" the gods (traditionally, at the first day of spring). Sex is never a part of the performance, existing only in implication, but tickling always is. According to some claims, it serves to remind of the natures of men and women, and renew Kash’s command to his children. At the end of the play, either the priestess gets tickled by the entire audience (usually if the audience is small), or all the women in audience get tickled in a mass tickle-frenzy.
There is no strong evidence that the myths of Exisarvan are true to any extent.
Legends about powerful entities shaping life are common among primitive tribes, even when such entities are not involved, as many examples show.
The entire area completely lacks thaumaturgic residue.
In addition to the obvious naivety of the myth about the invention of tickling and sex.
Yet it is indisputable that none of the Exisarvan men are ticklish, while all the women are, extremely so.
That everyone in Exisarvan gets great sexual pleasure from tickling (men from performing it, women from both performing and being subjected to).
That inborn abilities of Pyromancy are thrice as common (while other inborn abilities are much less common) among the natives of Exisarvan as among most other known peoples (supposedly, being a gift from Kash).
And that, despite the sinful habit of masturbation being very common and shameless among them, extramarital sex is nearly unheard of in Exisarvan, and all husbands are faithful to their wives, and wives to husbands.
(Faithfulness of course referring to acts involving genitals (female breasts do not count as sacred, and are left exposed), rather than fetishistic tickling, which is performed by any people, without care for relation or status. Which greatly inconvenienced female explorers from other nations)
Claims that the women of Exisarvan are uniquely pleasant or obedient are under investigation, but no clear proof seems possible.
