I was bored, so I made a thread. Now on to the point :stickout

Hey gang. Growing up, my sister and I almost wore out this one tape we watched every time we went on vaccation to a family friend's RV. On this tape was a cartoon from the 70's called The Groovy Goolies. I know not everyone will remember it from the first time it aired, but does anyone remember this cartoon, or is it just me? If it helps, there was a song in one of the episodes called "What's in the bag?" So if anyone knows of this cartoon, lemme know. Not for any particular reason, I'm just curious. Thanks folks.
Bug 🙂

I haven't seen the cartoon in question, but I do have a similar childhood experience. Whenever my sisters and I went over to grandma and grandpa's to be baby-sat, we would almost always end up watching an obscure 90's cartoon movie called The Music Machine. It was one of my sister's favorites if I recall, but I only remember it vividly. I'd be pleasantly surprised if anyone else has seen it too.

I remember the theme song from the Goolies but can't remembr any actual episodes though :/

I remember that cartoon, didn't catch it often, but from time to time.

I don't remember it myself, but I have a couple similar faded-memory shows.

One was a cartoon special called "Snow White and the Seven Friendly Giants". It's about what you'd expect - I think it was a Christmas cartoon.

The other was a sitcom called "No Bananas" that I remembered very vaguely. It was before my family had an Internet of our own, so I could not prove its existence and everyone thought I imagined it for a long time.

oh I remember that toon, it was made by the same fine people who made He-man and the Masters of the Universe and the Ghostbusters (no not the REAL Ghostbusters). Good stuff!

Having been raised with two younger sister's, I was forced to sit through what they wanted to watch from time to time. When my youngest sister was around 3 maybe 4 years old, her absolute favorite movie in the whole wide world was Rainbow Brite and the Star Stealer. For those of you not familiar with this movie, here's a fairly accurate description from a male perspective. This movie has haunted my dreams.

This review made me laugh pretty hard. It reminded me of the old X-Entertainment.com website (only place in existence where a three-page review of a pack of Crayolas is funny enough to warrant re-reading).

It's also noteworthy that Karen made me download the theme song after reading. I'm about to listen to it. Wish me luck.

Oh god, not the theme song! It has achieved the impossible by it being the only song to have successfully dislodged the duck tales theme song out of my head! And not in a good way, mind you.

Good luck, hope your brains don't get turned into mush.

Not to change the subject or anything but since we're discussing old cartoons does anyone remember Dino-Riders? I WUVED THAT CARTOON growing up as a young girl. ^_^

Oh man, that cartoon was awesome! The animation was reminiscent of He-Man, but only with dinosaurs and lasers! It was fantastic!

On a similar note; Does anybody remember Adventures in Dinosaur City? It's an obscurer early 90's movie about three kids being sucked through a TV into the land of talking dinosaurs. I remember it being a blast!

I remember watching shows like beetlejuice, tales from the cryptkeeper, nicktoons and so on. The new stuff is alright in some aspects but just doesn't hold up to the old masters

What? Your KIDDING? The Duck Tales THEME SONG is almost IMPOSSIBLE to dislodge! What UNHOLY SPAWN FROM THE NETHER PLANES of EXISTENCE ARE WE DEALING WITH HERE?

Heh, yeah, I should talk. My poor older brother was made to sit with me through every episode of She-Ra (when I wasn't trying to impale him with my plastic princess of power sword that is). ^_~

Besides me,anyone old enough to remember The Mighty Heroes?

Nope, sorry. Doesn't ring a bell. On a side note, does anyone remeber Exosquad? I loved that show (it dealt with prejudice, slavery, genetic engineering [and it's possible dire consequences], and SEVERAL of the main characters even GOT KILLED before the show's end)!

With classic eighties synthesizer music to boot. ^_^

I remember watching shows like beetlejuice.

Beetlejuice: "This looks like a job for...GRIMDEANNA BOOONNNEESS!

(giant rolling bolder comes to smash BJ)

Heh, sorry, that was the only episode of that cartoon I enjoyed.
