To me, Erik Spoelstra can't win, he's tthe Wade Phillips of the NBA. He's dead man coaching no matter what, if the Heat keep struggling, he's the scapegoat and should be fired, if they turn it around and start winning and winning big, he get's clipped becuase in Pat Riely's mind and I guarantee that this is what's going to be said, "Erik Spoelstra is a great coach and has lots of potential, but unfortunately the situation now with us now at the point we're at (asuming the Heat are really hot at this point) he just isnt equipted ti handle pressure like this and this was a move made for the better of the team"

Lebron goes out of his way to bump in a time out during the Dallas game and the look on his face said "Really?! Why am I putting up with this crap?"

The players dont respect this guy, but yet D-Wade says he doesnt want Pat Riely, the reason, he, Bosh, and James want someone they can walk all over.

Cant speak for everyone, but Im enjoying this!

Lonestar, I've done a lot of reading about Riley. I have several books, written both by him, and about him. The guy is an arrogant, egomaniac. I wouldn't want to play for him either.

Phil Jackson has more than twice as many championships as Riley. (Eleven as coach, to Riley's five). While Jackson and Kobe Bryant have had problems over the years, which Jackson admits in his 2004 book, The Last Season, Jackson admits he is not Riley, the hard driving, screaming, lunatic, put his players down coach that Riley is.

Riley wore out his welcome in both LA, and NY. The only reason he's been in Miami so long, is because he hasn't been coach for all the time he's been there. He's been hidden at times, in the front office, as "President", and not exposed to players all the time.

Dont get me wrong: I respect Riley's five championships. That has to be respected. I just dont like his methods. While we all know that Phil Jackson's eleven titles as coach, were due to men named Michael Jordan, and Kobe Bryant, Jackson also seems to have a way of succeeding, without being a stark raving mad lunatic, like Riley is.

It wouldnt surprise me if Riley took over for Spolestra. In 2006, such a move brought the Heat a championship, when they didnt even have home court advantage in the Finals. I dont know what impact such a move would have now.

Mitch

Mitch every coach's championship is based off of players. For you to go out of your way to say that the only reason Phil has titles only because of Jordan and Bryant, is insulting. As Eric Spulta is showing, just because you have 3 superstars(supposed) does not mean you can just win a championship. People need to start giving Phil more credit.

And how Dare tiy mention Kobe and not Shaq as well. For shame.

I watched a lot of Heat games this year. It's somewhat like when Lebron was on Cleveland, everyone stops and watches him. Wade is a smart player, he has to run that team to a larger degree. They will miss Haslem he was pulling down rebounds and scored on a lot of junk around the rim. Illgauskas has to be the worst player in the NBA!

Lonestar, I hate to say but you are a Dallas Mavericks fan. And to me, the Dallas Mavericks fans never got over the 2006 NBA finals lost. To this day the keep crying about it. So I think you are putting too much thought into that "bump" and the 10-8 HEAT....They can come out and soon have an 10 game win streak and improve to 20-8 before you know it....your enjoyment is premature.

Again I cant speak for all, but yes I am bitter to this day over what happen in 2006.

I'm sorry I don't think I'll ever get over it until the Mavericks win a championship or until David Stern steps down, but you can't deny that not only Mavericks fans, but most NBA fans are getting somewhat of a kick out of watching your team (assuming your a Miami Heat fan) pretty much self destruct.

And just like in 2006, the Miami Heat were flounderig and Riely stepped in, gave the reason that Van Gundy wanted to spend tme with his family, and wound up coaching to another title.

Its nothing that hasnt been already said, its pretty much the worst kept secret in the NBA, its not a question of if, but a question of when.

The reason why I am upset at the Dallas fans is because they showed no class. Mark Cuban even got Avery Johnson to look like an asshole (I love Avery). Mark Cuban cried about the backcourt call and the press proved him wrong and he refused to acknolwedge it. During another call, the refs said Wade was fouled by Dirk (Game 4 or 5 I think at the end), a stop moition picture showed that Dirk never touched him but Harris CLEARLY fouled him, the Maverick fans went nuts over this saying "See the refs cheated" ignoring the fact Harris had Wade by the arm during his drive. The Mavericks collasped in 2006, and cried about it and Mark Cuban is just a classless asshole. The worst part about it, is that your making my opinion of Dallas Maverick fans true...not trying to insult you, but you are.

Like others have said, it is WAY TOO EARLY to think the Heat are finished. It is still November right now. However, people are getting their yuks in because of HOW the Heat behaved in the offseason.

You have public enemy #1 Lebron James screwinng the Cleveland faithful over, humiliating them on televission across the WORLD, then he's seen dancing on a stage with Bosh and Wade. He completely tarnished whatever positive vibe he USED to have.

I feel bad for Wade. He seem slike a good guy, but he got wrapped up in with Mr. Ego, Lebron James. Wade should be the alpha dog. His team, his city, and he has WON A TITLE.

Lebron and that stooge Bosh have to realize that because they made such a spectacle of themselves, everything they do will be scrutinized. Even that bump into Coach Spoelstra. To me, the bump was not intentional, it looked like an accident. But people are going to run with it because it is Lebron and everyone is expecting Spoelstra to get fired anyway and have Pat Riley come in. But................

I don't think Riley is going to do it. Why? Because EVERYONE IS EXPECTING him to do it. Riley would never get out of the media fire if he did that move. Plus Wade doesn't want him back. Wade knows how much of a slave driver Riley is. Lebron will definitely not like that because his ego will be checked. I think Spoelstra will be coach for the full year. After that, all bets are off...

I can't wait for December 2. That Cavs-Heat game is going to be fun to watch. A lot of fun. Let's all watch Lebron crumble under the emotional pressure, and see if Wade saves him. I know this, the Cavs have to win this game, otherwise it is further humiliation for them.

Agreed, and yes I will state that my position is coming from a little bitterness, but you have look at this from m angle, if the roles were reversed and the Heat were up thirteen and all of a sudden everytime a Miami Heat player so much as looked at Dirk Nowitzki he went to the free throw line and it led to the Mavericks winning a title, Heat fans would want the head of Stern on a pike as well.

Wade I think put it best if they figure it out, then Spoelstra is coach of the year. This is also my opinion that they (being Lebron and maybe Bosh and Wade) is that they can get they're way with Spoelstra and not Riely, if Riely comes down its time to work, if its Spoelstra, its party time and they run the team.

The Heat are the classic example of "Too many chiefs and not enough Indians." You have too many superstars with huge egos on the same team and they don't play well together.

Well.........

I didn't watch the game-felt like there were better things to do (and I was right). I didn't expect the Cavs to win but I was hoping at least they'd make a game out of it. Maybe the next time the two teams meet it'll be more competitive.

What got on my nerves was that this game got national media attention; it was even reported on Bloomberg tv! What the hell does Cavs vs. Heat have anything to do with the financial stage? Nothing unless you're running a piece on bad business ethics; then you could run a one-hour + piece on what not to do when an athlete becomes a free agent. At the end of the day, there was no big deal; the fans booed Lebron and the Heat took the Cavs to the woodshed--just as I thought would happen. I'm just glad it wasn't a Browns game.....Miami wouldn't have been so lucky. Those fans are nuts!

What is interesting is that Dan Gilbert is crying foul and has formed an investigative team charging that Riley courted Lebron before his free agency. If that's the case, Gilbert's going to eat them alive; he will make it public and very ugly. That's not the man to cross, that's for sure. I hope nothing comes of it because if it's found that Miami violated anything, this so called rivalry will only get worse. It might make for great entertainment for other cities, but Cleveland doesn't need any more negative publicity.

Even if they get better and they will, as they have won their last 3 games, I still see them standing around and looking to Lebron in the playoffs. Remember 5 players and only one ball. I thought they would be a top four team going into the playoffs but maybe even a top 6 0r 7. I hope they never win a title.

Looked at him? It was clear he was fouled on that play and several others...the Mavs just collasped....
