Just thought i'd try to start a nice topic.Name the last song that bought a tear to your eye.Suzanne by Nina Simone which is the Leonard Cohen cover, was the last one for me.Fucking cosmic.

ohhh...tough question...
It genreally wouldnt be the song per se but rather the way it relates to my life at the time. It would be more like "What songs do you listen to when you're depressed?"
I'm going to say "Call me" though Im not sure who did it. I downloaded it from the Cowboy Bebop soundtrack *it plays near the end of the last or next to last episode) and, due to the illicit ways I get my music, I don't know the artist.

I don't believe I've ever heard a song that made me cry. Plenty of movies though.

I really like that song too. I sing along to it whenever I watch that episode. Fortunately for me, I can make my voice sound like his, so I'm not killing the song by singing it. LOL

"Cerge(i think)- Na Bozic nitko nije sam"(English: Cerge-No one is alone on Christmas). This song made me cry, but not because it is touching, but because it is SOOO stupid! The dude sings the whole song in a totaly retarded voice, and it has stupid words. I couldn't believe it! I mean, he practicaly retells the song, quickly changing very high and very low tones. And combined with words:
"Dosla je u grad
A tamo je mrak"
(English: She came to the town, and it was dark there")
You get a catastrophe. Do you see my point now?

"To Where You Are" by Josh Groban, when it was played after Sept. 11th.

well, I've never cried during/about/for A song, unless you consider the video game music during Xenosaga Episode 2 when MOMO is about to have her personality layer shut off so they can scan her memory... and she says "My heart is... an optional feature?"

That brought me to tears, though I wouldn't say it to the personal population... I have A warrior status to upheld. ^_^

most of these songs i've never heard of.'Black Dog' by Led Zepplin or 'Spikee' by Underworld make me feel pretty bloody good though.check 'em out.

I just listen to music........

"Blue" sometimes gets me close (The ending theme to the last episode of Cowboy Bebop), but that may be because it reminds me of the end to Cowboy Bebop...so sad...

"Butterfly Kisses" by Bob Carlisle
"We Shall See Jesus" by The Cathedrals

"Tallulah" by Sonata Arctica. I'd be surprised if any of you have even heard of it.

In descending order after that:
"State of Grace" by John Petrucci and Jordan Rudess. The song doesn't even have lyrics.
"Mama Said," by Metallica. Simply beautiful, and the most un-Metallica Metallica song out there. (Aww, CRAP. I had to go and play this song while typing the post, and now it's the most recent.)
"Fade to Black," by Metallica, later covered by Sonata Arctica. One of the few songs that permits you to cry and head-bang at the same time.

WELCOME TO THE HOUSE OF FUN (do do do do do do)

gets me everytime *sniff*

only kidding, but the closest would be the tune from 'the bodyguard.'
My Grandmother died around the time that song was released :sigh:

..."Never Hit Your Grandma With A Shovel(It Leaves A Bad Impression on Her Mind)"

Yeah, "Blue" is defintely good. The chorus made it extra special.

honestly?

'In My Life' does it to me. The Beatles tune.

It makes me think of all the people in my life that I've lost.

Especially makes me think of the great loss of John Lennon. I was in NYC a few weeks ago and went by the Dakota. Chilling experience. It's such an unassuming place. You could pass it and not know that it was the place he was shot and killed - the place that he lived at for years. The men posted at the gate must see thousands of people stop and take a look everyday.

But it's 'In My Life' for me.

Last Stand by Harry Chapin. I've said final goodbyes to good friends who have passed on with that song in my mind.

let's see

a song that made me cry was that mario song "make me your selection" or whatever

because it is so bad that it makes me cry out in horror everytime i hear it on the radio like 50 million times a day GHGHGG

Pink Floyd- Time

before that.....hmm.... Queen "These are the days of our lives"

"Hold On" ~ Sarah McLachlan...heard it when my aunt died, when I didn't get into the college I wanted, and basically at any big emotional event in my life, somehow this song snuck its way in...it's a beautiful song...just makes me a weeping camel to hear it...

tie between Dance with my father again by luther vandros and how do i live by Lianne Rhymes. damn that Hannity, now he has me hooked on that girl.

"corey's coming" and "a better place to be". both of these great hollywood brother endorsed songs are by the late harry chapin. In the first one "corey's coming" a hollywood brother like jabroni waits his whole life to see his corey but she do not arrive in town until his funeral. also there is a child who does not even believe corey is real until he meets her and then the main character in the song is now living his life waiting for his corey to come.

The second song "a better place to be" is also by hary chapin and is real powerful. This song is about people so down and lonly that being with anyone is a better place to be. The song so greatly projects the feelings of the characters in it that the hollywood brother can not concentrate on the words without tears flowing. One character is a middle aged hollywood brother wannabe that watches metal rusting and time going by. Another is a fat waitress that knows a little too much aobut lonliness and there is a also a lady in it who goes home with a guy for the night just to have someone for a night

My response

The Battle of Evermore by Zeppelin. Shit makes me cry every time I hear it. Is that odd?
