the last song that made you cry

There are a few out there that make me shed a tear. Johnny Cash's rendition of "Hurt" always does the trick; you can just hear all the pain and weariness in his old, wavering voice... makes me all misty, lol.

"Prologue", from Kate Bush's Aerial. It's a beautiful song, but the tears came from my best friend's death around the same time that I was listening to it, a coupla months ago.

I will probably always equate that song with their passing, even though it's more a song about beginnings and hope.

Oh Lord, so many songs, so little time

~Blake Sheltons "The Baby" is a good bawler. His mom dies before he can say goodbye🙁

~Fancy by Reba...Night that the Lights Went Out in Georgia by the same (or any other rendition of the same)

~When I Get Where I'm Going, collaboration between Dolly Parton and Brad Paisley, because I know a guy who died and I was worried about his hereafter for a while.

OK I'm gonna shut up now 😱

~K

"Mad World" by Michael Andrews, which is a cover of a Tears for Fears song, just really slowed down with piano. very touching since I first heard it after a good friend of mine overdosed.

Also "Hurt", the Johnny Cash version is powerful.

As for all the bebop fans who dont know who the artists are, most of the songs from that show are from a composer by the name of Yoko Kanno. There are even bebop soundtrack CDs out there.

Pearl Jam

I think the last Pearl Jam song on the album "ten". I think it's called release me.
"...oh dear dad, can you see me now, I am myself, like you somehow
I wait up in the dark for you to speak to me, I opened up, release me."
that line gets me right in the gut every time, I can't get through it without choking up. Which is weird, because my dad and I never had any difficulties in our relationship.

"The Acrobat" by Jonathan Rice.

Everytime I hear that song, it reminds me of how my mother died... Kinda sad, really.

Songs don't really make me cry, but the closest that's ever come to moving me is "Wayne Andrews, The Old Bee Keeper" by The Prize Fighter Inferno. In fact, that whole album is pretty heavy in that regard.

Two songs have done so:

"Streets of Philadelphia" by Bruce Springsteen a very long time ago when my dad left.

"Behind Blue Eyes" by the Who when I lost my grandfather to cancer... also a long time ago... because he taught me almost everything about life, even through his stroke.
