Ok, I'll have a bash. Would you be willing to be tickled by a man, or do you require your 'ler to be female? Just curious - like to know where I stand. :idunno:

Look at the things we have in common:

I like to tickle women,
You're a woman.

Take a walk on the wild-side and meet me in the chatroom! :tickle:

your not gonna tickle me period. why? becuase i said so ... now go find another topic 🙂

f/f

Yes maam. Shucks! *stares at ground, shoves hands deep into pockets and kicks at can as he leaves*

and if u mess this 1 up u will feel my RATH!!

Coincidently, its spelled WRATH!

So what to talk about? Other mispellings (especially of names), music, the weather? Start us off here.

The most serious discussion I can envision is this:

What is the meaning of life?

(Just don't ask me for the answer.)

What is the meaning of life?

Now before any silly people say 42 , that is the answer to the great question of life the universe and everything... not the meaning of life. sorry, I've heard that too often before.

You gotta be careful about that question though... cause it can get messy when reglious people suggest that being an atheist means that there is no meaning to life. You are simply a happy coincidence that resulted of random happenings between particles during a big explosion many years ago. But unless someone else wants to go there I'll keep any thoughts of mine to myself.

Any other subjects in mind?

Sorry, I don't get it, please explain????

😀 How trustworthy are those Organizations that advertise they feed hungry children with your donations? 😀

Pure evil. If you get lucky, MAYBE .0000000000000000000001% goes to the child. And that is probably eaten up by the costs of simply alerting the children that they got a donation.

Actually, I've sponsored two children through the Save The Children's Foundation. I read a study that 78-cents on the dollar goes to the child, either in supplies, or logistics of getting them there. They seemed to do pretty well for the two I sponsored. (Both little girls, BTW.)

🙂 I suppose 78 cents out of every dollar is a more than decent amount of money to send to them. I wonder what the Save the Children Fund does with the 22 cents out of every dollar.
Sole Seeker, I hope this isn't too personal but how much do you give and how often? I wonder what the standard amount that all who sponsor children pay?
🙂

charitable organizations

Here is one site that has information on various charities:
http://www.guidestar.org

They have mission, financial, and organizational information on numerous charities. There are also other sources of this information,
so try a search under philanthropic, or similar criteria.

the meaning of life?

there is a scene in the movie "dogma", the heroine asks god "why are we here"? god responds by pushing her nose like a button, and saying "mep". i thought that was the best answer i've ever heard! to me it means we are here to have fun, and love one another. of course love = tickling!

😀 If only we lived in a free love society where women went around sandalled allowing people to tickle their feet and other ticklish parts. 😀 😉 😛 🙂

sole seeker, that's so cool...

We like a man with a big heart.
And thanks to you too, shark, for posting the link for info.

They waste most of the money and those organisations should'nt have to exist anyway.

Brazil is the world's third biggest food industry, but it's got one of the highest cases of child malnutrition in the world, because it's selling 90% of it to pay for manufactured debt.

Africa has millions of acres of arable farmland, but instead of planting wheat, corn and barley to feed it's people it's stuffed with cocoa plants to fuel the West's chocolate industry, which is in turn sold to repay THEIR manufactured debt.

Now we're told that third world debt will be "forgiven" in return for the countries handing over permenant rights of THEIR land to the banks who invented the debt in the first place.
The ironic thing is that the money that was supposedly lent to them, never existed as anything but figures on a monitor, or writing on a page. The banks invented it out of thin air and killed millions of children by enforcing their ursurious interest rates. Why it is that private banks have the authority to create money instead of governments is beyond me. Actually it isn't beyond me, but the explanation would roll a few eyes.

Jim,

You make some valid points. Some of these organizations are not very reputable. I accept the data you give about Brazil and Africa as correct. I just consider it a moot point.

There is what should be - and there is what is.
Life's not fair - I wish it was.
Life is hard - harder for some than for others, but nobody gets a free ride.
I can't do anything about corruption in Brazil, or Africa - I can't change the way of the world... but I can work on whatever little piece of it I can get ahold of.

If I can help someone I will. I accept the fact that I can't make everything perfect for everyone, or even anything perfect for anyone. But maybe I can make something a little better for someone. Just my point of view.

Yeah, good point Sole Seeker.

Though it might seem as if you are just cleaning up after other peoples messes... and you probably are actually. If we just took the approach that its not our fault, let them fix it... the girl we are sponsoring would either be dead now... or more un-educated, hungry and pregnant than she is now (she's not hungry... even though she's my age, she's only yr4 edu and she's pregnant anyway... but she has a hope now).

Life is what you make it. If enough people change for it to alter the "collective mind" then the whole of life on this planet will change.
Nope, I agree that no-one gets a free ride. But a few oppressive but powerful people condemn countless billions to horrible deaths purely because THEY CAAAAAAAAANNNNNNNNNN and like doing it to increase their sense of power.
You can do more than you realise, despite being just one person. Humanity is collectively powerful and it doesn't take a huge majority to influence the world for the better. Good is like an infection in some ways, it spreads to other people and multiplies it. Happiness and wellbeing is just a change of mindset away for most people in the world.

Bless yer heart for what you do mate. I'm sure we all like to do well by others. 🙂

Yep. Sod-off Saddam comes immediately to my mind. Personally, my remedy is to send 'em back to God and let Him deal with 'em. The rest of us are much better off, and maybe they are too.

That's quite a revelation to me. You are a lot more optomistic than I. God bless you, mate. That optomism is quite a gift. Share it! :cool2:

I agree with The Pianist... even if the kids learning is greatly centered around religeous text (the text is not my religeon), at least they're getting some kind of education. I figure that's the first step for making things better in undeveloped countries... opening their eyes to other possiblities.

BTW: That figure of 78-cents may be a bit low. I did that research about ten years ago. I didn't try to remember it, because I never thought I'd discuss it. (This is something I didn't plan to make public.)

Unfortunatley fighting fire with fire, only gives an end result of twice the amount of fire you started with. The whole Saddam regime was more engineered by the west than your average supermarket tomato.

I try my best, but often get accused of telling people that the world is shit and there's no way it's possible for them to be leading a productive life (Dave2112) or that I come across as a deluded person seeking to find order in the waves of chaos, who desperatley needs to find something to replace religion with in my life. (Myriads and Haltickling)

Just because I focus on things in life that ARE bad and need sorting, doesn't mean I'm all doom and gloom. Sadly, few people who've responded see it that way.
