Hey gang!

We're in the process of attempting to put together a history of the tickling community...both online and otherwise. So, one of the things I thought might help is a little survey. (Don't worry about your own experience being too old/new or unimportant or anything like that. Just share what you have to share and we'll sort everything out and plug things in where they belong.) Some of those who we know have been around a while will be getting a PM or an e-mail asking about this as well. We want to gather as much info as possible before we all get too OLD to remember! 😉

1. How long have you been involved in the TK community...year if possible?

2. Is that involvement strictly online? Or, are you involved in live activities as well?

3. What are some of the first TK-related web sites you found when you got online?

4. Who are some of the early (or not so early) pioneers of the community who you think should be recognized for their contributions? Please specify your reasons for choosing these people.

5. What are some of your favorite TK sites and why...whether they still exist or not?

6. What gatherings or other events are you aware of or have participated in over the years?

7. If you had to name one thing about the community that you find most important, what would that be?

*** If there's any other info. you think may be useful to us that isn't refered to by the questions above, feel free to share that as well.

Thanks to all who help us out with this!

Ann

I hope this helps, Ann. I know I am atypical, but that should be represented in any survey, too.

1. How long have you been involved in the TK community...year if possible?

One and a half months.

2. Is that involvement strictly online? Or, are you involved in live activities as well?

Depends. (People must be tired of reading this by now, as I have posted it at least five times, but...) I have engaged many times in what this site calls mainstream tickling (non-sexual horseplay and sexual foreplay), but there was nothing like what many of you describe here. It was always for less than ten seconds (and usually MUCH less). I would like to try other things; perhaps I will and perhaps I will not. I have no idea.

I am not sure if I have answered the question.

3. What are some of the first TK-related web sites you found when you got online?

Jack's Male Tickling Rack (a gay site with hundreds of stories and articles--not a message board) changed my life when I found it in 1999. It took years for me to read everything, and I suddenly realized that I was not a pervert after all. I have seen Foot Friends recently--and there is this site (TMF). Nothing else.

4. Who are some of the early (or not so early) pioneers of the community who you think should be recognized for their contributions? Please specify your reasons for choosing these people.

Many mainstream tickling images exist in literature, on TV, in film, and so on. As I was growing up, I knew that there was at least a context for tickling and that some people had to like some limited aspect of it. I cannot name any specific people, however. How about the folks who created this board? I'll nominate them. 🙂

5. What are some of your favorite TK sites and why...whether they still exist or not?

The three I have already mentioned. Jack's Rack now has an archival location instead of its original one. Nothing new will ever be added: http://web.archive.org/web/20030207225607/www.ropejock.com/pa/home.html

6. What gatherings or other events are you aware of or have participated in over the years?

There is a gay fetish club here in New York, and it has tickling demonstrations the second Monday night of each month. I went for the first time in February and hope to go again. I know about NEST from this site, but nothing else.

7. If you had to name one thing about the community that you find most important, what would that be?

1). Open-minded people who make me feel welcome (including you, Ann)! This is important in making me want to stay.

2). People willing to explore their own alternative sexuality (tickling, bondage, etc.) who then say on this very site that M/M is "disgusting" and that gays should be persecuted. Go figure! This is important in making me want to leave.

*** If there's any other info. you think may be useful to us that isn't refered to by the questions above, feel free to share that as well.

Never underestimate the importance of mainstream comic books and all the tickling that goes on in them. When I was 12 or 14, they were my pornography! 😀

Thanks for the response! I, for one, am glad to have you with us. I wish more of the M/M community would join in things here. But, I do understand why they don't. Damned shame!

Nxt contestant....! 😉

Aww man! I didn't know there was a quiz!

1. How long have you been involved in the TK community...year if possible?
I went on line in October, 1996. I started posting to AMT in October, 1998.

2. Is that involvement strictly online? Or, are you involved in live activities as well?
Pretty much 99% on line. Although I do try to spread the word as much as is possible.

3. What are some of the first TK-related web sites you found when you got online?
Tickle Central, Ticklegal's, Jugglertx's...just to name a few.

4. Who are some of the early (or not so early) pioneers of the community who you think should be recognized for their contributions? Please specify your reasons for choosing these people.
I could go on for days on this one! Just to narrow it down:

The afore mentioned Jugglertx. He was one the very first (and most consistant) mainstream contributors of acutal clips.

Bob Hare, who ket AMT as spamfree and ontopic as possible back in the day.

Oblesklk, from Tickle Central to Tickletown...the keeper of the mainstream list these days and the best place to find clips in the past.

Those are the first ones that pop into my mind...but certainly not the only ones!

5. What are some of your favorite TK sites and why...whether they still exist or not?

Camp Tickle was great. Ufodude and Ufogirl had a wonderfully entertaining site with great material!

Of course I LOVE the TMF! This is the central hub to the tickling community for me!

Tickle Theater is simply fantastic if you are looking for pictures or video!

Plus alot of today's media producers are just incredible...especially when compared to some of the drivel we spent too much money on in the 80's and 90's just to be entertained!

6. What gatherings or other events are you aware of or have participated in over the years?
I have never attended an event...but NEST is the one I remember the most hearing about...and the one I would probably go to if the oppertunity showed itself!

7. If you had to name one thing about the community that you find most important, what would that be?
Its corny and cliche, but I REALLY do feel the feeling of family. No, not everyone gets along, but they don't in my real family other! LOL! There is this hodge podge of different backgrounds and personalities and yet we have this ONE thing in common and can put almost anything aside to share in it.

*** If there's any other info. you think may be useful to us that isn't refered to by the questions above, feel free to share that as well.
Thank you Ann for making this place, and all of us here, realize that we can be more than just names on a screen and there can be some depth to this thing we all love!

1. How long have you been involved in the TK community...year if possible?

Since 2000 online as a lurker.

2. Is that involvement strictly online? Or, are you involved in live activities as well?

I've been seeing a professional Domminatrix for tickling since before then, since 1999. I've been attending gatherings since 2003.

3. What are some of the first TK-related web sites you found when you got online?

The first was the Josie's website, then the TMF.

4. Who are some of the early (or not so early) pioneers of the community who you think should be recognized for their contributions? Please specify your reasons for choosing these people.

The people responsible for adding tickling photo sets and stories to the House of Milan magazines (Hogtied, Bound to Please) back in the 1980's. There was no other material available then, at least not that I ever found. This led to their magazine devoted to tickling, Tied and Tickled.

5. What are some of your favorite TK sites and why...whether they still exist or not?

TMF, Tickled Til Begging, Tickle Theater Community, Tickling Community

6. What gatherings or other events are you aware of or have participated in over the years?

I've been to NEST, Hyena's Club, NYST, SBG, and CAT, some of them several times.

7. If you had to name one thing about the community that you find most important, what would that be?

The people in it like my stories. 😀 Truly, the acceptance of my experiences and fantasies is the best part of this community.

cool questionairre Ann!

1. How long have you been involved in the TK community...year if possible?

TMF!

4. Who are some of the early (or not so early) pioneers of the community who you think should be recognized for their contributions? Please specify your reasons for choosing these people.
I'm way too green to answer this question....Not a clue at all.

5. What are some of your favorite TK sites and why...whether they still exist or not?
Here (of course my first)
Sometimes I hang on TT, but many more friends here
Rio & Tummy's Tickling Community

6. What gatherings or other events are you aware of or have participated in over the years?
My first was last November. My last one was this February. and I've got one coming up this weekend! :xpulcy:

7. If you had to name one thing about the community that you find most important, what would that be?
I think it's the people that care about keeping it a community, those that contribute, are active members and MAKE a difference. I joined the first day I found the place, no lurking for me. Why did I do it? Because I was moved by how close so many people were with other members~there was lots of teasing each other and the warmth really shone through. I love so many of you~and you know who you are! Thanks for letting me hang and be a part of your lives!
:bowing: :redheart:
XOXO

1. How long have you been involved in the TK community...year if possible?

Since 1986

2. Is that involvement strictly online? Or, are you involved in live activities as well?

Not live as in group meetings with TMF members but a few live 1 on 1 meetings.

3. What are some of the first TK-related web sites you found when you got online?

First in news groups. First site I recall was called Tickle Central... don't remember the address. There were may others over the years but I can't pull out names.

4. Who are some of the early (or not so early) pioneers of the community who you think should be recognized for their contributions? Please specify your reasons for choosing these people.

Jeff (of MTP) certainly gets my vote. Way back when, his videos offered quality content at a time when the rest of the stuff out there was soooo poor. Who could forget Mary's first time?? 😉 Things were so hectic back in the late 80s stuff from then is a blur.

5. What are some of your favorite TK sites and why...whether they still exist or not?

TMF
Tickle Theater
others escape me at the moment...

6. What gatherings or other events are you aware of or have participated in over the years?

Aware of many. Attended: none

7. If you had to name one thing about the community that you find most important, what would that be?

Knowing you're not alone in your interest.

1. How long have you been involved in the TK community...year if possible?
I did my first tickle web search in september of '96. At that time I found a website called www.ntcweb.com which had a forum and a chatroom. In January of 2000, I began posting to AMT. I joined the TMF in July, 2001.

2. Is that involvement strictly online? Or, are you involved in live activities as well?
First Munch was in March 2001. Local Washington DC group called "Tethers 'N Fethers." Cute, huh? After another such Munch in January of 2002, I got invited to a Virginia home for some tickle play as well. :veryhappy I went to my first NEST in May of that year (at your favorite spot, the Kama Sutra!) and have been to every NEST since.

3. What are some of the first TK-related web sites you found when you got online?
NTCWeb.com....Josie's....TickleGal's....Tom's Adult Tickling Site....Camp Tickle...a couple of more I can't quite remember the names of.

4. Who are some of the early (or not so early) pioneers of the community who you think should be recognized for their contributions? Please specify your reasons for choosing these people.

Yaqi - Known him since my earliest days on line. He's contributed to the forums in ways I can't describe. Great tickling material and even greater commentary on the Tickling Community.

James Dark - one of the earliest contributers of online video clips, back in the days where nobody gave a crap about copyright infringements. Ahh, the memories.

Max Speer - for starting NEST and continuing the tradition to this day.

5. What are some of your favorite TK sites and why...whether they still exist or not?
I don't spend a lot of time browsing TK sites these days. I've got more pics and clips than I know what to do with. AMT is my rightful home, but since it's all but abandoned, I hang out at Tickle Theater and the TMF.

6. What gatherings or other events are you aware of or have participated in over the years?
Hah, here's the irony of that question. In 2000, I got sick of all the "NEST is so wonderful" posts so I made some derogatory comments. I sent a request for an invitation for NEST 2001, but never got an answer. Now that I've been to NEST 02-05, I'm the one making the "NEST is so wonderful" comments. 🙂

7. If you had to name one thing about the community that you find most important, what would that be?
The most important thing to me is something that I took for granted at AMT but has been denied at the TMF since day one. The freedom to say what you want to whom you want, exactly how you want to say it. It absolutely amazes me still to this day that the majority of folks prefer an atmosphere of strict control and censorship.

1. How long have you been involved in the TK community...year if possible?

Late 1996. Around Oct, I believe. A friend introduced me to mIRC and the #ticklefun chat room, and since then no one's been able to get rid of me. 😀

2. Is that involvement strictly online? Or, are you involved in live activities as well?

Both online and live. Attended the first SBG gathering in Albany, NY, and hosted the first GLAT gathering in Wisconsin.

3. What are some of the first TK-related web sites you found when you got online?

Camp Tickle was the very first tickling website I ever saw or visited. Others that I remember being among the early sites I frequented were Solefully Yours, Hotel Tickle, Tickletown, and Josie's Ticklish Pussycat website.

4. Who are some of the early (or not so early) pioneers of the community who you think should be recognized for their contributions? Please specify your reasons for choosing these people.

MaxSpeer and DVNC for the work they did getting the events off the ground and organizing and creating the whole gathering scene.

Oblesklk for bringing mainstream tickling to the surface of our community.

MTJ Publishing for the work they've done with tickling art and fiction.

Jeff for helping to create and since maintaining the TMF.

Myriads for the many roles he has played in the TK community and fetish communities both online and offline.

Magic Touch Productions, Solefully Yours, TC Videos, and Tickling Paradise for the work they've done through tickling media and videos, and pioneering the industry that has now grown to such an infinate pool of variety.

5. What are some of your favorite TK sites and why...whether they still exist or not?

The TMF, obviously, for uniting all of us ticklephiles and giving us the ability to communicate and share thoughts and experiences in a nice, friendly, flame free enviroment.

Hotel Tickle and Tickletown for just being such ingenious and incredible sources of tickling "stuff"....especially when it was so limited.

6. What gatherings or other events are you aware of or have participated in over the years?

Aware of too many too mention. Have participated in SBG and GLAT. Hoping to participate in MTP this fall, perhaps, and NEST one of these upcoming years.

7. If you had to name one thing about the community that you find most important, what would that be?

Providing so many outlets for people like us who almost all believed we were alone in this fetish until discovering the tickling community and the plethora of incredible people and recourses within it.

Mimi 😉

1. How long have you been involved in the TK community...year if possible?

Online Since 1997...Involved Since Around 1991

2. Is that involvement strictly online? Or, are you involved in live activities as well?

Both

3. What are some of the first TK-related web sites you found when you got online?

Tom's Adult Tickling Site, CampTickle, AMT, Magic Touch

4. Who are some of the early (or not so early) pioneers of the community who you think should be recognized for their contributions? Please specify your reasons for choosing these people.

Tom, (Toms Adult Tk Site) who first of all is a great guy and use to do mammoth size posts at the AMT of his vast collection of pics and such. Jeff (Magic Touch) for never giving up on what he loves to do! And of course Max and DVNC for all their hard work in organizing the gatherings.

5. What are some of your favorite TK sites and why...whether they still exist or not?

Well, I love the TMF and have been here since day 1. It's just a great resource for anyone who likes what we do. Naturally, my favorite site from the past was my own...HotelTickle! I felt it opened up a new door in the tk community by showing people that couples and friends could enjoy it together. We also created alot of orginal content which was really missing from the community at the time. It was a blast 🙂

6. What gatherings or other events are you aware of or have participated in over the years?

I am aware of all of them, but have never been to an "official" gathering. I prefer the spontaneous getting together of good/new friends and just letting things happen as they happen. Naturally my g/f and I are great instigators though!

7. If you had to name one thing about the community that you find most important, what would that be?

That we all share the common bond for the love of laughter!

peace out,
daddy

Thanks gang! Some great responses (and memories) here! Anyone else?

Ann

Your questions, my answers

1. How long have you been involved in the TK community...year if possible?

I joined the TMF 1-25-2002. I guess that was my entry to the community.

2. Is that involvement strictly online? Or, are you involved in live activities as well?

I have had the pleasure of meeting one fellow tickling enthusiast in person, thanks to the TMF, I should add. Otherwise, I have limited my activity to the web.

3. What are some of the first TK-related web sites you found when you got online?

That is hard to recall. Sorry! I remember that some posted pictures of from Tied & Tickled magazines and other such publications. And I’ve been a member of one or two Yahoo tickling groups but dropped out.

4. Who are some of the early (or not so early) pioneers of the community who you think should be recognized for their contributions? Please specify your reasons for choosing these people.

😱 HOM Publications, which gave us Tied & Tickled, the first title of quality tickle photography I found.

😱 “KJ,” who contributed to the early HOM Tied & Tickled magazines.

😱 California Star adult videos, which gave us the video series Tied & Tickled, the first quality tickle videos I found.

😱 Michelle Bauer who, as "Pia Sands," electrified the first two Tied & Tickled videos in which she starred as the ticklee.

😱 And the founders of the Tickling Media Forum web site.

5. What are some of your favorite TK sites and why...whether they still exist or not?

Darn! I see what you mean about memory! I can recall a handful that I liked because they had lots and lots of good tickling pictures.

6. What gatherings or other events are you aware of or have participated in over the years?

So far, I have yet to attend any. I have met and tickled with one fellow TMF member, as I mentioned.

1. How long have you been involved in the TK community...year if possible?
I guess that'd be around 2000 - 2001, when I got cable-internet

2. Is that involvement strictly online? Or, are you involved in live activities as well?
not with other members of the community, I just submit my gf's to tickletorture

3. What are some of the first TK-related web sites you found when you got online?
ANA's vidstore, that just popped-up on my searchresults, and after that the TMF on the ezboard

4. Who are some of the early (or not so early) pioneers of the community who you think should be recognized for their contributions? Please specify your reasons for choosing these people.
Well, TC for delivering quality stuff for quite a few years. But I don't know about the earlier stuff going on here

5. What are some of your favorite TK sites and why...whether they still exist or not?
TMF & Tickletheater

6. What gatherings or other events are you aware of or have participated in over the years?
None, living in Holland sucks when it comes to gatherings

7. If you had to name one thing about the community that you find most important, what would that be?
Well, I can't really find the right word for it right now, but it's pretty much like the coming-out stuff in the gay community, to talk about your secret fetish, something alot of people see as perverted.

This should be fun!

1. How long have you been involved in the TK community...year if possible?

September 1996! So almost 9 years although it seems like a lifetime.

2. Is that involvement strictly online? Or, are you involved in live activities as well?

I started all online and was a frequent visitor to the AOL Tickling Chatroom for several years. Then the craving took over and I met a guy online, and another, and they were just wonderful gentlemen. I've hosted and co-hosted probably at least 100 events on the West Coast over the years and I'm one of the hosts at NEST in Philly.

3. What are some of the first TK-related web sites you found when you got online?

ProfTickle - Tom Hawkins had a great site which was my first one. Then I found Tickletown and thoroughly enjoyed that. Now I'm pretty much tied (pardon the pun) to TMF. It's my favorite!

4. Who are some of the early (or not so early) pioneers of the community who you think should be recognized for their contributions? Please specify your reasons for choosing these people.

MAX - Obvious reasons
Jeff (MagicTouch) - obvious reasons
DVNC - Obvious reasons
Oblesik - Obvious reasons

5. What are some of your favorite TK sites and why...whether they still exist or not?

TickleTown was just a dream come true for me when I found it. Oblesik did a fantastic Job with it. I took a hiatus for a time and then found TMF and that is where my heart and Sole (pun intended) lie.

6. What gatherings or other events are you aware of or have participated in over the years?

Oh goodness.... Well West coast Gatherings of course - far too many to count. I went to Memphis for a gathering and had a fabulous time. NEST is my other MAIN "HOME" gathering. I'm a native California but I consider Philly Home also. I went to Albany for the first Super Bowl Gathering. And I even went to Vegas for a gathering at Jeff's house.

7. If you had to name one thing about the community that you find most important, what would that be?

The freedom to finally be able to explore your deepest desires without fear. No one looks down at you. They all understand and they all have pretty much the same desires and feelings. It's the "Happiest Place on Earth" when you're with like-minded folks. To meet people, or see them only once a year, and feel that kindred spirit and deep connection is just an amazing and wonderful experience. At the gatherings everyone is Top Notch. No one is the "best" at this or the "master" of that. We all bring our special talents to the party. The blending of all that talent and that overwhelming sense of fun and exploration is contagious and just great fun. We all learn from each other and we all help teach each other. That way the knowledge and experience spreads helping others to play safe, meet safely, and enjoy themselves.

ok ok... I'll stand down now! LOL

1. How long have you been involved in the TK community...year if possible?
Since around the middle of 2004 when I first got on the net.

7. If you had to name one thing about the community that you find most important, what would that be?
Can share a common interest which is not possible for me in any other setting.

1. How long have you been involved in the TK community...year if possible?

Involved with anything that could legitamately be called a "community"...since around 1990, although a lot of that was as a part of the active BDSM crowd, and gravitated toward the then-small groups of ticklephiles within that society. If you want to actually count everything including one-on-one real-life stuff...then that would be the year I took my vow of not dating/marrying/screwing anyone who wasn't at least somewhat into tickling. 1986.

2. Is that involvement strictly online? Or, are you involved in live activities as well?

See above.

3. What are some of the first TK-related web sites you found when you got online?

For the very first month of my online life, I got just about everything from the old Tom's Tickling Website. If I remember correctly, I got the link to here from a site that I got a link to from Tom's, so that's how I wound up at the TMF. I bumped into The Art of Tickling website early on and of course there's the much-missed Bear's Tickling Fantasies.

4. Who are some of the early (or not so early) pioneers of the community who you think should be recognized for their contributions? Please specify your reasons for choosing these people.

DVNC and Max for being instrumental in bringing the community together with the earliest widely-known gatherings. Jeff and Myriads for this very site and its operation. The TMF is (I consider) the lightning rod for the community at large. As far as the onscreen stars of video tickling, I'd go with Ashley Renee, Ariel Cole and producer E.Z. Ryder for almost specializing in tickling in a time when tickling flicks were few, far between and fake.

5. What are some of your favorite TK sites and why...whether they still exist or not?

The above mentioned, of course. In general, though, I don't have "favorites" per se. Different sites have a variey of styles and looks to offer, and I tend to approach them with such a mind.

6. What gatherings or other events are you aware of or have participated in over the years?

Plenty of gatherings back in LA, but those were general BDSM gatherings, although there was usually an element of tickling. I've been to two of the three SBG parties. Although I haven't gotten to NEST yet, I was at something called "NYST" back in, oh around '93 or so. That was a localized New York thing I found out about through my drummer at the time whose day-job was at a big porn shop in Binghamton.

7. If you had to name one thing about the community that you find most important, what would that be?

The still-astounding level of diversity among its members. Unlike a lot of the BDSM crowd, the tickling community doesn't have a "base zero" personality type. Oh, the many colors... :rotate:

Okay,here goes...

1. I've been regularly tickling since Fall 2002(the very first West Coast Foot Worship party, which transformed into the West Coast-based separate organzation known as Footnight, was the very beginning of this important phase in my life).

2. Definitely live activities.

3. Tickling Media Forum

4. Everyone here.

5. Both this place and Tickle Theater.

6. The Footnight parties(which I've proudly attended every Vegas party since Fall 2002).

7. A family type atmosphere is the most important, since earning the trust and friendship of other is the main thing when it comes to having longtivity in the tickling/foot fetish/fetish community scene.

More One Important Thing😛arties like these help everybody, including the guests and models, all learn about themselves and what types of different fetish aspects that they really enjoy and feel very comfortable upon participating in,which is why I constantly return to parties like these(as well as Reason Numero Seven).

1: Since 1996, when I got my first "real" Internet access (as opposed to CompuServe) and discovered ASFT on Usenet.

2: Both.

3: Usenet, as noted above. Tom's site. NTCWeb.

4: I'd put a vote in for the late CB, who -- aside from his stories and art -- was also the founder and, for a long time, the defender of the #tickling channel on IRC.

5: At this point, it's pretty much the TMF.

6: NEST, a few SBGs, and a Hyenas Club gathering.
