Obviously I left Citi Field last night in a good mood, since the final score was Dodgers 7, Mets 6.

The game entered the 9th inning at 7-6 and ended at 7-6.

My point is this: During most of the 9th inning, the fans at Citi Field were doing "the wave". I would have understood if the score had been 7-0 or 14-3, but in a one-run-game???

I just don't understand why people attend a baseball game if they aren't interested enough to watch the conclusion of a close game.

I agree, milagros. I think it's kind of childish and takes away from the actual game. You go to a game to see your favorite team play, so sit and watch the game. It was fun when I was younger but now just seems silly.

Now I'm all for having fun at games, but there are other ways of having a good time and generating noise/excitement.

Consequently if a bunch of midgets do the wave would it be called a "ripple?"
