This is just a thread to talk about the golden days of wrestling, when WWE then WWF was actually pushed by a little company called WCW with the most legandary of groups the nWo.

The reason Im starting this is because hearing and looking at all the Miami Heat and comparison to the nWo back in the day.

I then went back to look at old WCW matches on youtube and on old DVDs telling the story of WCW.

I chance to share favorites and some thoughts on WCW and WWF before they just stop caring in general and put some actual effort in their product instead of relaying on total WWE arrongance.

What's out there now is still good, but back in the 90s, that magic sadly is lost forever.

I remember when Monday nights were reserved strictly for wrestling. Nitro from 8-9, then I'd flip back and forth between Nitro and Raw, depending on what was on.

I was once grounded, and in order to watch, turned the volume down AND shoved towels / blankets under the door to keep the glare of the TV from escaping.

Watching these old WCW Nitro matches and watching WCW moments just makes me nystalgic.

Its what's missing from today. WCW wasnt as bad as people made it out to be in my opinion.

I think wrestling wise, WCW was great. Even with the ridiculous characters (Glacier and Mortis come to mind), the matches they had were pretty good. I loved the cruiserweights. I thought one Mysterio / Psychosis match was the best thing I'd ever seen in my life. By the time the "Light Heavyweight" title was brought to WWE, I was over it. No Esaa Rios v. Taka Michinoku match could compete.

Speaking of Mysterio, one of my all time great wrestling moments was watching poor Rey Rey be thrown like a lawn dart into the side of a trailer by Kevin Nash, circa 1996. I laughed for a week.

WCW, Saturday mornings......then, Saturday nights on TBS from 6pm to 8pm. Incredibly cool. Even if the show didn't have a lot of great matches, at least Bobby Heenan was at the announcer desk.

Another thing you got look at with good and bad of WCW, WCW's new blood movement to me happened about three years to late.
