I can barely hear the word without getting all squirmy. Can barely hear it, can hardly say it 🙂 Which reminds me of two less-than-comfortable professional career moments that hopefully you'll all sympathize with...
First, some years ago I joined a company as a new application developer and one of my first assignments was to develop (their words), a "tickler", which was essentially a "to-do" reminder program. It was almost physically painful to endure a discussion around what type of ticklers they've used (and liked) in the past, and whether I've had any experience creating ticklers ("well yes, but we broke up years ago..."). Ugh ugh ugh, I can still feel the butterflies and flittery pain to this day!
Second, I joined another project and found we were going to be using a new scripting language. You guessed it -- TCL, otherwise known as "tickle" script. So we had a week worth of "TCL training" (I kid you not), and several months' worth of TCL talk. To this day, I don't even put it on my resume 🙂
The upside is, I bet I'm one of the few people here at TMF who was
a) paid to create a tickler and
b) paid to go to "tickle training" 🙂
Peace,
Stacy
