The written word, "tickle"

Often people here will talk about how hearing somebody say the word "tickle" affects them.

Out loud, it doesn't do much for me. But when I read it, it gets the ol' blood pumping.

I think perhaps I spend too much time in the stories section...

I actually, for the first time ever, accidently typed out "artickle" instead of "article". I was so mortified.

I don't really have an issue with looking at the word in discussions here on the forum. However, if it's being discussed in a story that I enjoy then yes, I get a different feeling.

it can at times make me curl my toes and shiver.. if reading a good story but then again.. just wiggle fingers at me and I will look for the nearest exit.. lol

What I really mean with this whole thread is that when I, in real life, unexpectedly come across the word "tickle" in anything I'm reading, I find it much more disarming than when I hear it unexpectedly.

Like, just staring at it for longer then necessary? Or reading on and then flipping back to that sentence/paragraph?

I've done that way too many times to count.

It just kinda... throws me off. I was reading an article about state formation in southeast asia, and at one point the author described something as "a ticklish situation," and I totally lost my reading flow.

I get excited whenever I see the words tickle, tickled, tickles, ticklish, or tickling in print. 😀

Not possible, there is no such thing as too much time in any of the subforums under STORIES.

Im the other way round, the written word doesnt phase me, but the spoken word makes my ears stick up like a dog when you whistle.

But the german word "kitzeln"....wooh....I´ve never said this word and I don´t think I ever will.

It's not that my mind drifts off and I start fantasizing, it's that I'm stunned. The word carries so much significance that if I see it out of context I just kind of freeze, and it takes me a moment to relax again.

I have no problem seeing it or writing it in written form. It's the vocal form that gets to me.

I can't really say it out aloud and hearing other people say it, it only bothers me if is associated with me.

I'm just the opposite of LD. I can read it and my girlie bits don't tend to get all tingly. But if I hear it? I get all worked up on the inside and I will never say it. I sometimes try to but it comes off sounding weird and I feel all virginal and giggly.

Except when I'm being tickled. When I start hollaring, "stop fucking tickling me!" well... you can imagine.

I think that maybe when I hear it aloud in social situations, I'm ultra careful to specifically not to let it affect me, lest I start sputtering and sweating and pass out.

When I'm reading and more withdrawn, my guard is down.
