like i said bout 4 weeks ago i got cable and started watching wwe and some ppv's. what happened?? on raw they talked for like 9/10 of the show then had like 3 matches. on SD they didn't even do anything besides jbl blabbing about how hes better then people and then taker kissing paul's backside.. it makes me mad, any opinions?

I think its safe to say you're preaching to the choir.

I think the problems started back up with the draft. RAW is too exclusive as is Smackdown. Certain wrestlers would be better on the other show, and the story lines really need help. And now that the Undetaker is just someone's thug makes me mad. Its really a disservice to Undertaker fans everywhere. But thats the point isn't it? They want us to hate Heyman for it. They're doing a good job of it. I think the Undertaker will find a way out of it though.

As for JBL, I like the pressure he is applying. He's so in your face, and Smackdown needs that right now. RAW is better off than Smackdown in every way. I don't currently have cable anymore, so I'm stuck with just Smackdown. I used to look forward to it. But it's really lost it's charm and magic. The only real thing I look forward to is the Undertaker, and even he and his gimmick are being undersold. :sowrong:

Oh, and Triple H needed to stay on Smackdown, not be traded back to RAW. :sowrong:

I sat back watching Smackdown last night and just shook my head at Paul Heyman's antics (threatening to suffocate Paul Bearer in a concrete filled coffin at the "Bash"); basically admitting with glee his plan of "premeditated murder" -- if the Undertaker didn't "do the right thing" (presumably take a dive and allow the Dudley Boys to defeat him at the "Great American Bash").

Add in silly gimmicks such as "Samurai" Kenzo Suzuki and his face of rage, Mordecai the "antichrist", and Rene "the dancing Frenchman" Dupree (among others), and Smackdown currently reminds me of a grade-B soap opera....not worth spending 0.50 cents on, much less $40 for a PPV.

taker and heyman is just stupid as was kane and taker. they made us wait like 3 months to see taker vs kane and then it just ended with a tombstone piledriver. now paul is going to kill paul bearer if taker dosent do the right thing.. heloooo arnt they tryin to sell taker as a good guy.. now hes a bad guy all of a suidden. he has feelings for paul bearer.. or does he just have an urn fetish?
😛

Well, considering the Urn contains the Undertaker's soul, I don't think its an urn fetish. 😛

With the future of the WWE now gone (Brock) and Hollywood Rock showing up whenever it's convenient, along with the greatest technical wrestler no longer wrestling (Kurt Angle)and no doubt some of the best "eye candy" for the guys (Stephanie) no longer around.. yeh I would say the WWE is basically no longer worth watching. And no offense to anyone, but to me Eddie Guerrero and Chris Benoit just don't cut it as "Heavyweight Champion" material. They are both great wrestlers and awesome entertainers, but when it comes to putting butts in the seats for a championship match they just fall short. I can only speak for myself but I would not put out $40 to see either of them in a main event. Undertaker is just getting too old no matter which gimmick he uses and Flair (who in my opinion is the greatest wrestler of all time) should have retired about 10 years ago. To me, the biggest problem the WWE has right now, is they don't have enough headliners, or I should say wrestlers who can pull in the buying public anymore. Cena is good and getting there but he's still in the same class as EG and CB. He still can't put em in the seats and the ones mentioned at the beginning of this post are no longer around. That crap about Brock joining the Minnesota Vikings is a big joke. No one - and I mean NO ONE could ever walk onto an NFL playing field having never played football before and suddenly become a NFL player, I don't care how big he is or how strong he is. Brock's character was going to be a doormat for a while and he didn't like the idea so he pulled the plug on Vince. Yeh, the WWE needs help.

Forgot..

Wasn't that the same 'urn' that supposedly the Godfather (who was Kama at the time) stole and made into a gold necklace years ago? Oooh that's right,it's wrestling and we aren't supposed to remember storylines a month after they happen. Sorry, my bad lol. Also, isn't it kinda funny how no one seems to remember (or care) that Rikishi RAN DOWN STONE COLD LIKE A DEER IN THE WOODS?!! Oh there I go again.. we are supposed to FORGET such things haha. Wrestling is soo cool! 🙂

I remember alot of the storylines too. 🙂

They just don't put the same ammount of fun into it anymore.

It's really sad to admit but....Smackdown is now at a level of WCW in it's final days, just unwatchable. Granted, I still do watch every Thursday and do run a tape just in case anything good happens(yeah, right!), but 2 nights ago, I was actually more interested in "VH1's top 100 hard rock bands of all time".
Reasons? Bradshaw had already wore out his "J.R. Ewing" bit 4 weeks ago before he got fired from CNBC. The diva search? BORING....,Made me switch over to HGTV. Eddie Gurerro? Enough already!! He's not a Bret, Austin, Triple H, hell..I would RATHER watch Eugene than him!
I'm sick of this new/old school Undertaker, he wouldn't be bowing to anyone 10 years ago even if Paul Bearer was kidnapped (i.e. gallbladder surgery). ENOUGH with GM Kurt Angle!!! Either get better, take off the phony cast and get out of the wheelchair, or join Goldberg, Hogan, and Austin in Anheim, CA on July 11th.
Mordecai? NO! NO, NO, NO! We already seen this satanic bit 6 years ago...and Undertaker did it much more convincing without a lisp and without looking like the old Jeff Jarrett character.
And I truly don't want to see ANYONE(at least who's playing a character) get buried in cement.
As far as what's working or what can work...John Cena, Rico(can stand to lose a few pounds, just to keep him "flamboyant", and the Dudleys need to turn face again, the heel turn is failing miserably.
And dump Classic Chavo!!

i totally agree with you guys about Smackdown. they need help, FAST! Eddie Guerrero is actually entertaining to watch. the problem is, he doesnt have a dominant heel to play off of. they really should have kept Triple H on Smackdown, that would have lead to some very interesting storylines. or at least give Austin a new contract and put him on Smackdown. that's instant ratings. the problem is, they need a dominant heel. no one fits the bill on Smackdown. Guerrero and John Cena to me are quite entertaining. it wouldnt surprise me if Cena was the next big superstar.

Raw on the other hand is still quite entertaining. Benoit deserves being champion, but he still lacks a persona. they need to build a another face to really run the show since my favorite guy, the Rock, makes cameo appearances, Austin is gone and HBK is getting older. Randy Orton will probably become a major major heel soon as he is improving every week with his wrestling and more importantly, his character. this reminds me of the Bret Hart era where wrestling was okay. it was the "tweener" age between the Hogan era and the Austin era. eventually wrestling will be huge again, we just may have to wait a few years. wrestling is cyclic and trust me, it will not go away.

Chavo Classic is already gone. He was fired for arguing against some of the ideas they had for him and for no-showing some weekend shows. The match with Mysterio this past Thursday was just to get the belt off him so they could kick him out.

I think it's a shame, myself. He shouldn't really have wrestled much, let alone won the belt, but he was pretty funny as Chavo's manager ("This is a shenanigan!").

I've read rumors that some people backstage (particularly Bruce "Brother Love" Pritchard) are arguing that the cruiserweight division should be disbanded entirely. If that happens, I hope guys like Jamie Noble, Paul London, and Nunzio have the sense to pack up and leave, because they'll never be used for anything other than cannon fodder for the Mordecais and Kenzo Suzukis of the world (I know, like they aren't already?).

watch tna on fox sports. I think its on thursday at 2. then watching the wwe is no problem. I just tape them and watch them. Its sad now that a wrestler has to wrestle in two matches for a ppv.🙁

It started about three years ago and then came on like a freight train. The WWE's product is a complete bag of shit, that is totally unwatchable and fundementally boring. Characters go from heel to face, then back to heel again within a month; title reigns last on average six weeks and there are too many damn PPVs!

On top of that, this stupid shift roster/company split idea is the worst Vince, Ric, Jim or anyone else in the head shed ever had. It's boring. And to boot the bastards have started charging for PPVs in England now, wheras we used to get them included in the already astronomical monthly Sky TV subscription.

I personally find the dialogue the best part. i fast forward through most of the matches. the storylines are the most entertaining to me.

Ehhh, good WWE comes and goes now with the tide. Monday and Thursday nights are a crapshoot now. Will the show be good, or suck? Either way, most of us still tune in to find out.

Anybody else enjoying TNA IMPACT on Fox? Not a bad show, and though I initially smirked at the thought of an octagon-shaped ring, I'm warming up to it very well.

The Sean Man

My eyes did a massive roll when the Lita pregnancy plotline reared it's cheesy head.

The Sean Man

I've not seen him since his return, but I hear they tried to make him a hybrid of his Old School and Biker characters. Add to that he's now acting as someone's stooge and you've got one big sack of poo on your hands.

It has to be slightly more credible than Mae Young being pregnant by Mark Henry though. 😀

Btw, who's supposed to be the father? Matt Hardy?

Jim - Who in "Smackdown: Feel the pain, has just engineered a plotline where Kane gets romanticaly entangled with Victoria.

the only thing thats gonna save it is to bring back stone cold....somehow...period.

I've said this before and I'll say it again: Screw Austin. Even if I didn't find him personally repugnant, he has nothing more to offer the show than just stunnering everyone.

And those who say that the current period is the worst possible probably weren't watching WCW during the years Kevin Nash, Kevin Sullivan, and Vince Russo held the book.

Even though I'm a big Austin fan, I gotta agree with Shem, Austin's finished in the ring. He no longer can physically compete due to long-term wear and tear on his body. He's even admitted his career is over. And I really don't want to see him hanging around as a former shell of himself as a "sheriff" or enforcer.
The Rock, on the other hand, still has plenty to offer. But he's a movie star, now.
And WCW was pretty awful in it's last days when Vince Russo was running (ruining?) the show. Anyone yearning for "Hollywood Hogan vs. Jay Leno 2"?

I enjoy that too. Without it I probably wouldn't be interested at all. Though I do think with the storylines and plots, they are only thinking so far ahead. I remember when a good plot or story left it unpredictable at times, and thats because they put more time into it and didn't just tack it on like it seems they're doing now. Everything is so predictable now that it takes away from the enjoyment value of watching these shows. I nonetheless watch wrestling in the hope that it will get better and so I won't miss anything important.

And not forgetting the biggest dick of all booking time, Ric Flair. 🙄

I actually like some aspects of it. The negatives have been mentioned before so I'll just say what I like. I like paul heyman. He's an incredible on air personality with great speaking skills, and an incredible ability to promote. He made the dudley boys interesting again and they are getting huge crowd reactions. Turning Undertaker into Paul's servant if anything, gives him something to do. I can't think of any other good story to put him in.

Ric Flair, probably the best bad guy that you can laugh at. Always funny when he falls flat on his face.
