keep their household going after their divorced mom passes away, and they're doing it when the absentee dad shows up, played by Robert Shaw.
The eldest daughter is supposed to be about 16 or so, and there's a great scene where the dad is wrestling around on the floor with the oldest daughter and starts tickling her sides. It goes on for 15-20 seconds, and then they suddenly stop because they are both getting turned on.

Does anyone remember that film, what the name was, and if it's rentable anywhere?
 
I'm pretty sure the movie you're referring to is Our Mother's House. The father was played by Dirk Bogarde, not Robert Shaw, but the oldest daughter was Pamela Franklin, who was pretty damn cute.
