I imagine this could sound harsh, but I mean no disrespect towards the decent folks here. This really about trends I'm seeing among culture Vs. Sub-culture.

Why is it that various members of communities such as this one, or those foot-lovers over at the mouse pad seem to cause a scene?

There is a thread dedicated to listing ticklish celebrities, and more than a few are due to people with our interest managing to push the question and get a reply. This is also evident on the foot fetishist side. This is just my opinion, but it disturbs me a bit when I hear about people saying "I get so many requests to show my feet that I guess I'll just have to post a picture".

I'm not sure if anyone here has heard of "Attack of the Show" its an entertainment/pop-culture show...I like it. But anyways, there is a very attractive co-host named Olivia Munn on it. The show started a segment where fans of the show could pose her questions about, well anything. The first time the segment aired there was a question for her to flaunt her feet...

I feel like people are being creepy about it. Or is it that there are so many creepy people that this kind of thing happens. I guess its not any more creepy than cretin males screaming "SHOW US YOUR BOOBS!!!!"

And yet I remember there was a thread posted here with mainstream pictures of regular people tickling each other at parties, etc. There was a disclaimer by the poster saying something to the extent of "Please remember, do not harass the people in these pictures, just because they have a picture of tickling, does not mean they share our same interests in it."

I'm not decided what I think about this kind of behavior. Is bringing parts of our sub-culture out into the light a good thing or a bad thing? And are the methods being employed only making things worse? Does anyone else feel the creepiness factor here?

L_F...you raise a very poignant question here.....allow me to inflect:

The ONLY thing that makes any 'sub-culture' interest creepy are those AMONG it. I think there's a very healthy number of those who are members here who DO go about their everyday lives without having a conniption if they weren't tickling/tickled that day, week, month...what have you. We all do have varying degrees though...and in a forum like this, the likelihood of an overzealous number of members (new and veteran alike) who befit a higher extreme of satisfying their sub-culture interests CAN make it a bit uncomfortable for others who yes; HAVE shared their desires, fantasies, and some give and take with other members...but from that some deeper bonds have grown.....part and parcel of the reason why there are various tickle-gatherings held and conducted by members here for the express interest in meeting OTHER members.....NOT just for tickling or being tickled...but to talk, laugh, eat, drink, be merry.....much the way a group of friends would at a 'happy hour' at a local bar on Friday nights after work. If there wasn't some degree of trust and understanding established between those who've attended/hosted gatherings, the gatherings would never take place.....after all....gathering attendees DO understand that an overzealous, 'creepier' attendant in their midst could upset the blend....

...what doesn't help matters any, are some of those overzealous and over-anxious populace who surface in news stories on TV or in print as being arrested or "...sought by police" for exacting their deep-rooted desires or fantasies on VERY unsuspecting members of society. We've all seen/read/ heard of stories of people who were arrested or caught for sneaking into the homes of single (and married!) women and scaring the ever-lovin' bejeezuz outta them by tickling their feet or sucking their toes, and running like hell when discovered. Just last night in the chats, there was some talk about a guy who held a woman at gunpoint just so he could suck her toes!! Extreme cases such as these certainly do NOT help those of us who DO acknowledge on some level that we have an interest that may not be universally shared or understood, but relish being able to indulge and share these interests with one or a few trusted friends, significant others, or other aficionados in a venue such as this. Stories such as these, or overt suggestions poised to celebrities or people in the public eye could very well push those of us who identify with THIS particular sector of the 'sub-culture' further into the underground. After all...when more people who are NOT as geared to this as we are hear more and more of these bizarre instances, or can empathize with an interview with an attractive and coveted celebrity who may say something like, "....I wish I could stop these sick requests for more photos of me being barefoot or perhaps being tickled on my feet.....I think my feet are gross...tickling sucks....etc..etc..." (you get the idea). People DO take what some celebrities say to heart, and in turn become a 'silent-soldier' in the name of the same cause...however serious or dopey it may actually be.

I think the best we can do ('we' being; those of us who do NOT befit the overzealous, over-anxious, extreme contingent) is continue to be open about matters such as this just as much as we are open about what we'd like to experience/share with other like-minded people. I've seen many, many objective opinions and thoughts given by various members to a thread-starter who may have had a rather interesting thought or fantasy or desire and posed the question to the masses that might read it and respond. I've not yet seen ANYONE having a hard time coming right out and saying something like, "Uhh....I dunno about that.....if you really intend to follow through with something like that, you gotta be mindful of a few things......etc...etc..." This kind of honesty I've seen shared is excellent....it may help keep some of those with wilder imaginations '...in check.' WIll it work in all cases?? No....I suspect it won't....after all, it takes all kinds....I just know I'd hate to see SOME of those kinds tarnishing some of these lesser 'disturbing' sub-culture interests to a point of no return.

I don't think posting mainstream pics of regular people being tickled on this forum is a good idea. I know I'm new around here and my opinion prolly doesn't mean that much to you guys, but if I found my picture on a forum like this and I didn't share the interest, I would be very creeped out. It's just overall not a good idea because we don't have their permission to post these pics, and if we did ask, they would give us a big NO.

You bring up an interesting point Louis_Fargo, but...to be perfectly honest, compared to some of the other fetishes out there, the foot/tickling fetish is quite tame. If you think its creepy that pictures of people's feet are being posted on the web, then you would be horrified to see some of the other things you can find out there. There is nothing wrong with posting pictures of people's feet on the web, as long as you have that person's consent. However, I understand your point about the mainstream pictures...I really think that you need someone's consent before you put pictures of them on them on the internet. That is a bit creepy to me...

By the way, did Olivia Munn show off her feet? I would love to see that!

I actually fully agree with you. There are alot of people on this forum alone who take things way too far. People have to learn when enough is enough.

personally, the only reason I'm here is too meet other people who are into this fetish, so I can feel a bit more comfortable with myself. I'm usually only here to talk casually, make a few people laugh in response to my comical antics, and generally make friends. I'm not here to cyber or harass other people. I just generally like to meet people, thats all.

Now, I personally have nothing against cybering, it's just not for me. But it really pisses me off when I see people hounding others for attention, harassing them to do things they dont want to. What the hell ever happened to being a gentleman? Even if you arent the perfect person, you can at least give people some respect.

I am in full agreement.

I don't know about "creepy", but a word I find myself using to describe people in our little clique more and more these days is "furtive". Tickling (and body-part interest, like feet or bellies or what-have-you) is harmless and not seen as a fetish to the vast majority of the population, so a lot of us take advantage of that fact in order to indulge our fantasies by pushing potentially inappropriate contact (or conversation) on others, people who would probably be far more unwilling to participate/answer said questions if they knew we were getting off on their doing so.

Then you got the stuff like guys hiding cameras and taking pictures of womens' feet in public, posing as surveyors to have an excuse to talk to women about being ticklish, and all the other stuff you already mentioned like the nuts who break into people's houses and sniff their feet while they're asleep... it pisses me off to no end. You don't have to be open about it, but you don't do yourself (or anyone else) any good by slinking around and tricking people into satisfying your hidden whims.

But, that's just one man's opinion. Let's be careful out there.

I'd say that breaking the law just to indulge a fettish is beyond stupid, and gives the whole community a bad name.

I agree with you in that pictures shouldn't be shown without the concent of the people in the picture, but to some extent its ok to show mainstream photos, as long as the people involved aren't getting harrassed because of it.

Getting a celebrity to show her feet using subterfuge is just wrong, they are people too and most likely don't have the same feelings about the subject as we do.

Answering to Louis,

This is more or less the price to pay for being a celebrity. Once you are on the spotlight you will get hit by everything out there. They will get hit by all fetishes and not just ours.

Now this is more or less the tip of a very big iceberg which is human behaviour. It´s a fact that too many people don´t grow well balanced and will have extreme behaviours. Considering how widespread foot fetish is, it´s just impossible to stop those kind of things from hapenning.

What we can do as a comunity is to be alert and try to reason each time we see anyone taking things too serious.

The odd thing about all this is: Do you know who is really paying the dream life of celebrities? Yep!! mostly the crazy people, mostly the ones who are capable of doing those questions because they are the ones who want to know everything and who will buy anything they can from their loved celebrity. The problem being a celebrety is that you know it´s your fans who are paying you but those who want to pay more are sometimes those who will want more in turn.

This is a problem with society, not just with our comunity or any other. We as part of society become part of the problem too.
