There is this other co-op working in the office next to mine (I am also a co-op). I talk to her pretty often, but I don't want to come off too weird by asking her if she is ticklish and where. Could somebody come up with a possible scenario where I could bring up the subject of tickling without coming off as weird?

Why would it be weird to ask that to begin with? As long as you ask with an ambiguous tone of voice and you don't sound too enthusiatic about it and ask her other things in the process she probably won't catch on.
I don't think you need a scenario or some complicated scheme or plot. Just use common sense and what you can use in the moment.
I think so long as you don't bring it up more than once she won't put too much attention into it or understand the significance.
If the whole point is to simply know the information but never get into a ticklish situation, then asking her once is all you'll need. And if she catches on and starts asking you questions you can take the gamble and go with it, or deny, deny, deny.
Either way, I think you win. And if she doesn't answer you then thats the risk you were taking in asking her anyway, scenario or not. Ultimately, you can fantasize about her any way you want regardless of what you know or do not or whether this pans out for you.
Since you talk with her often your chances seem good to accomplish what you want.

If you work with her and you aren't dating her, don't ask her. You'll come off as totally creepy to her, and once it gets around that you asked about it (and it will, I assure you), you'll be seen as unprofessional at best, a total nutcase at worst.
There's such a thing as "appropriate conversation" at a workplace. You'd be well-advised to keep that in mind...

I have to agree with Sam Hill and Wendynpeter -- in today's litigious society, it's too risky to discuss the subject of physical touching with an opposite-sex co-worker.

Indeed. It's wise to not dip your pen in the company ink, as it were.
I say that first and fore most you should decide if this is someone who you want to persue outside of the working arena. If she is then in the course of actually dating and seeing eachother outside of work there will be plenty of time for you to find out if she is ticklish or not through very accepted dating flirtation, and not be thought wierd.
If you think that this is someone who just has cute feet or a cute laugh and you just want to tickle them i would really advise against it because it never really turns out well from what i understand.
If you want to date her date her and tickle her then (its actually quite normall, and if she does like it she won't mind, and if she hates you there are 3 billion other candidates)
but if this is just an excuse to tickle someone i would just look for a relationship and express yourself that way.
The quickest way to fail in America is to worry what other people think about you. Even if it does get all in the water cooler, who gives a flying flip what the other people in the office have to say. read page 54 of Napoleon Hill's Think and Grow Rich three times a day.
