Have you ever not asked someone out because they were too ticklish? Have you ever not tickled someone you know that they were too ticklish and you cared for them too much to cause them any discomfort?

This has happenned to me a few times, and I wanted to see if I was the only one, or just crazy.

Yeah, my ex-husband was hysterically and excruciatingly ticklish...to the point it was literally almost painful for him. He could not tolerate it at all. So because of the amount of discomfort it caused him, I never tickled him. Not even playfully. I just couldn't do that to him knowing it was so unbearable for him.

I have a friend who is like that as well, and I've never tickled her either. Never will. I had to pull one of her boyfriends off her once because he had pinned her ankles in his arm and was tickling her feet absolutely mercilessly. She was crying within seconds and couldn't breathe and he wouldn't stop, so I jumped up and tackled him clear off her. That's just not cool in my book.

The True Gentleman KNOWS

There was once a young lady who spent the summer w/ me back in Co.
She was from Long Island but looked almost Polynesian,(sp?)...we really had a wonderful time. It was the first time I'd ever heard the words,"If you LOVED ME , you'd Tie Me Up."
She was EXTREMELY TICKLISH on her feet, (her 2 brothers tickled her feet EVERY Night when she was a kid), and would beg, Literaly Beg for me not to touch them...and here she is tied up.

She saw me going for them and started Pleading ...her feet remained untouched.

To this day, I carry a fond memory of her because she said I was the ONLY guy she knew who really took no for NO.

This wasnt a romantic relationship, but the only person I've ever known who used to be that ticklish was my aunt. One time my grandmother and her were just lying in bed talking, and my grandmother accidently grazed my aunt's foot with hers, and it sent my aunt through the roof! Afterwards, she had a head injury where she was hit by a taxi, and after that, was still extremely ticklish on one foot, but only mildly so on the other. I did tickle her feet once or twice when I was maybe 12 or 13. I think she might be one of the most ticklish people I've ever known, too bad she's my aunt.
Back to the question at hand. She is the only one I've known so far who was this ticklish. I hope when I get married to find a very ticklish girl who can tolerate it, but not one who is ticklish like you described. It wouldnt be fun if the person was that ticklish that it was actually painful for them to be tickled.

I've never refused to be with a person because of it, but I have had two different partners who were painfully ticklish like that. I would gently tickle them if they consented to it, that is, I would always ask their permission first. I never took it far, and I always stopped immediately at the sign of discomfort or their request. Because I respected their feelings, they were able to feel safe with me and truly enjoy a gentle tickle now and again. Their previous partners hadn't listened to them, so they weren't allowed any tickles at all. Personally I would never let someone near me either, if I thought they would do something to me without my consent. There's a moral to be learned here I guess 😉

Sort of. A very good female friend is just off the charts ticklish. The one and only time I had the chance to tickle her feet she pleaded and begged with me and I did not do it. I've seen them tickled briefly though and I think she would chewed her own leg off to get away from me that day. She is equally ticklish elsewhere and will accept quick side pokes but anything beyond that tends to make her uncomfortable so it never goes any further.
