ahh my father always loved when we took him out and paid for his meal on father's day..it's funny how little things could make him happy. i still miss him even now..

My dad died in 1982 and i still miss him.We kind of grew apart as i got older and i regret that.He was a good man.

My relationship with my dad is tense, shall we say. I generally don't acknowledge Father's Day as he lives on the other side of the country from me, he doesn't particularly seem to care.

that's sweet,however i did'nt start this thread for any kudos to myself. i realize not everyone had a great relationship with their father. and i didn't mean to bring up bad memories for those who had. it was like on mother's day, my relationship with my mom was intense to say the least, and not exactly in a good way..

i am very fortunate to have a great relationship with my father (and had a horrible one with my mother, so i guess that makes up for it). ill be spending this sunday with my father, my family, and a grill, so it could certainly be worse. peace.........BLUE_THUNDER

As some of you may know, my wife and I are adopting a baby boy from Korea. We found out the day after Mother's Day, interestingly enough. So I will be a father soon, but it hadn't really hit me yet. Then I got an e-mail from my cousin's husband. They're giving us their old crib, and he said he'd be free Sunday to bring it up from Virginia. I told him I didn't weant to disrupt any Father's Day plans they had. He e-mails me back and says "My Father's Day plans are going towards seeing a good father get started. I'll see you Sunday." Then it hit me. I'm going to have a son. I have no more words. Tearing up now.

aww Matt..and i know how much you have waited for this..and of course you will be the bestest dad ever. finally you and your wonderful wife will experience parenthood. i can think of no one more deserving.. goodluck with that precious baby when you finally get your hands on him..

Congratulations, knight and happy fathers day!
We lost my mom this year but I have a very good relationship with my 85 year old dad who is a fine man and remains in remarkably good shape. I hope to get lots more time with him.

I took my father out to dinner. We had a nice dinner, then we went to a pub and got drunk =P. Had a nice conversation, and I bought him a really nice watch, and a John Wayne DVD collection, he loves john wayne, hehe.
