Those debt "management" / "solution" companies...Are they a scam..??
I bought a Dell laptop back in the summer of '05. It was somewhat of a time of fortitude for me back then, but things have changed dramatically...hence I'm in somewhat of a pickle now. Everytime I get a statement from them it looks as though I've not even made a payment, largely because of the interest rate I assume. Growing weary of this, and the fact that the damn thing isn't even working atm (btw...their outsourced support sucks the big one...!!), I've been thinking about contacting one of these "institutions" to help me get out of this nightmarish relationship with Dell, but my suspicious nature towards corporate America causes me to wonder whether these places actually do help people, or just get them worse off.
Has anyone here ever dealt with one of these companies, or knows of someone who has?
