Wondering what Detroit fans think about this situation. If you don’t know by now, Lion Center Dominic Raiola flipped off the crowd on Sunday, something he did in response to hecklers.
He followed up in interviews with these quotes:
"I don't take one thing back," Raiola said Monday. "I'll say the same thing to a fan that I see in the street. I wish I could give my address out to some fans. I'll do that.
"But, you know, I can't. Nobody plays with fists. Everybody wants to play with metal. So I can't.
"I'm so frustrated. I'm tired of being a doormat for people to just talk to us how they want to talk to us. I'm just not going to put up with it anymore."
"You know, if you're not happy, why are you coming to the game? I understand that they haven't seen a winner in eight years, so don't come. Don't come until we turn it around."
The team as a result is fining him $7500.00

Personally I can't blame the guy for losing his cool. I heard that some of his teammates were even getting heckling calls on their cell phones. He probably shouldn't have flipped the bird off to the entire stadium though. that falls under the sage advice "don't bite the hand that feeds you". Especially since Detroit is the poorest large city in America right now and the fans are paying for your multi-million dollar salary. Anyone else have a take?

It's a frustrating situation for the players. They don't ask to be a lousy team, but thanks to Matt Millen this team has been ruined for the next few years because of his lack of talent evaluation.

Fans think that because they bought a ticket they can do whatever they want, but the truth is they can't. Can they Boo? Of course they can..but if you get personal as apparently the Lions fan did toward Raiola, then I don't blame him for fighting back. Raiola has been a vocal leader for the past few years, he's not a loud mouthed prima donna crybaby receiver, so I'll back him on this one.
