Well, since I will be having visitors tomorrow night, and dont know when I will be able to get on here tomorrow, I figured I might as well post my "Iam thrilled to see 2004 go thread". As most on here who know me are aware, the last two years have been quite difficult for me due to parents health issues, and business troubles. The situation this year really took the cake.
First, as most of you who know me are aware, I was forced to drop out of the business I had been doing since Sept, 2001, Market America, because I just couldnt find any people to be sales reps. Although the company was a multi hundred million dollar company, and sold excellent products, it had a stigma of "network marketing", because one of the ways one made money was the amount of people in one's organization, the "downline". Some in the company were able to fill their downlines with many relatives and friends from having been in the area for a while. I didnt have that luxury, as I dont talk to my entire father's family due to how they treated me during my childhood, and my mother's family had neither the money, time, or inclination to join.
Then, on top of that, as most of you who know me are aware, I parted ways from my father this year because of his ongoing vile treatment of me, and his decision to cut away needed money from my household, and reduce household support, at my lowest point, right after my business had failed, exactly at the time I needed it most, without allowing me time to get back on my feet. He did all this because he had to live in his $4000 a month apartment with his second wife, after being a positive slimebag to my mother financially. After doing this last March, he has taken to paying alimony haphazardly, and being as dirty as he can possibly be, while never being in touch with me to either reverse himself, or inquire about my well being.
Finally, from May on, I had been doing a business on Ebay where I received extensive training during many telephone calls to become a "Power Seller" on the site. In spite of having excellent pictures, and fine items at reasonable prices, I sold very few things, and was forced to abandon that after 7 months as well. So, as I head into 2005, I will be looking into selling antiques at shows, a common business down here. I hope a new year will bring better times, because it cant be much worse than 2004 has been!
So, Goodbye and Good Riddance 2004! I will be standing in front of the TV tomorrow night at 12 to wave goodbye to this miserable year. I look forward to 2005, as Iam of the belief that even in the worst of years, the dawn of a new year brings opportunity for change, better luck, and good things. I will be welcoming 2005 with open arms!
