As far as I know, there aren't any "tickle dungeons", but there
are plenty of S/M dungeons with ticklers and ticklees available
for hire.

I've gone to plenty of public play space/dungeons, and tickled
my bottom. It's great fun because it isn't something most
places are used to, and the crowds that develop really get
into what you're doing. It is becoming far more main stream
(there are tickling workshops at large s/m events nationwide,
now) but it still attracts attention.

This discussion about professional ticklers has got me thinking...who would make a better tickler... a professional mistress with a tickling specialty or a spouse. According to the research I have read it tickling has a social function. It is very hard to tickle yourself and it is more difficult to get the desired reaction when tickling someone you don't know. I feel qualified to answer this question. Mistress Zara got a good ticklish reaction from me during our first session, and a slightly better reaction the next few sessions. By our 10th session, she had found two ticklish spots that I didn't know I had, and was getting a superb reaction from me.

Now, more than 7 years after our first session, she can drive me to use my safeword in five minutes flat any time she wants to, and we both know it. 😀

I also used to believe that some kind of personal or even emotional bond would be necessary for a good tickle experience.

I have to agree!The ladies who tickle me seem to find a new spot every time they have their way with me!

I think this is one of the best and highest purposes events like NEST,
TnF, West Coast Gatherings, etc serve. I don't know how many
people Mistress Zara tickles regularly (for example) but there may be
exactly the right number of professional dominants who tickle and
professional submissives who are ticklish and get tickled already out
there. I know a person who has been to several professional dominants
in my area, and it's about $2-300 per session, and some of them are
better than others, in terms of tickling being the focus, and in terms
of actual skill in eliciting a response.

How many people does NEST and other gatherings generally attract? That sum is probably closest to the true market size.
