Disclaimer: I dont think this is something that will ever happen and I am not trying to actually create it. Its just a fun idea to think about.
Most people are at least vaguely familiar with the concept of LARP (live action roleplay). Maybe you don't know how deep that rabbit hole goes, but it isn't just adults wacking each other with pool noodles. If you are at all into theater, fantasy fiction, even sci-fi, take a walk through Google results. There's some really cool stuff out there. It gets even more intense outside the US.
The idea popped in my head for a tickle-centric LARP. The basis of the idea in my brain was Low Roads Comics.
Some people play villagers, some people play "bogies".
You have a Renaissance era village. Peaceful, but there has always been a slight undertone of tickling in lore, history and even the judicial process though nobody quite knows why.
Just outside the village, a threat lies dormant but soon to be awakened. Bogies. A race of monsters feeding on the tormented laughter of ticklish villagers.
The LARP itself would be based on this awakening and the increased occurrences of Bogie attacks. Culminating in these cruel ticklers raiding the village and torturing the villagers and turning them into Bogies too. Imagine being the last human standing. 😉
