as a 22 year old virgin, i can understand being apprehensive about sex. when the time is right, it will happen. don't do it until you're sure you want to, cuz if you don't, it won't be any fun and what's the point of having sex if it isn't fun?

What's wrong with sex on the first date?

Fundamentally, nothing. The bottom line is mutual respect. Frankly, I'm not sure I myself would recommend a hook-up with a new person for a first-timer, but if your partner knows enough to listen to your needs and feelings without ignoring or dissing you, won't get bent out of shape if things don't quite turn out ideally and knows how to play safely, it could be a positive experience. Many people, understandably, will prefer to check out a prospective date for a few dates before getting down to business.

FWIW: That HBO movie I mentioned earlier showed a scene where an 18-year-old's parents hired a (legal, trained and very professional) sex worker to not only take their son's virginity but instruct him in how to please a woman as well as himself. While I myself would rather have a child of mine lose it to one of his or her peers, I suppose there are worse ways to educate a young adult about sex.
