What does tickling do for you?
when i heard tickle benefits, i thought charity benefits where people can donate to watch a person tickled lol
Maybe the more donations pledged, the more they're tickled? lol

I know that after I was tickled silly for a good twenty or so minutes by a couple of 20-somethings the other day, they both exclaimed how it must be the tickling keeping me looking youthful.
Any kind of intense pleasure is bound to have beneficial effects upon one's mind and/or body.
(Tickled for twenty minutes by two twenty-somethings...Hmm, there's obviously a message in there someplace! 😀)
All of the previous posts are true. However, I have always wondered if (at least for the Lee) if it's not good exercise. For instance, what would a 30 minute upper=body tickle per day do for the old abdominal muscles?

Tickling is indeed a sign of affection and the fact that it can be either playful or sensual depending on the person and the situation makes it a versatile one. As a 'ler, I find that tickling is a healthy way for a fella to get back at a girl who bops him one without breaking that golden rule of 'do not hit a girl' for us guys.
I also find that giving a drawn out session of very light strokes is therapeutic for me, not unlike a painter venting his emotion on a canvas or a pianist baring his soul upon the piano. Even as it can be torturous or playful, I like it best when it is treated like an art-form, to keep the 'lee on the edge of that ticklish sensation so she (or he for those of you who like the /m side of things) can weather through an especially long session without growing too exhausted or to the point where there's the pain in the sides and cheeks from laughing so hard so long. It inspires a deeper knowledge of that person, to feel out the limits and the depths of the sensations that bring out the best feeling in them. One can get lost in that and cleanse away stress and frustration by concentrating on something--and often someone--they love.
I'm not a fan of the loss of control side of things, hence why I'm not a 'lee... but I think I can understand the relief of being freed of responsibility and control during a hard situation and just riding someone else's whims for a while. Add that to the fact that laughter is good for the soul and you have a winning combination. I've never known someone who disliked the feeling of something just really making them laugh heartily and without a hint of self-restraint after a stressful situation.
Most of all, though... it's fun. Even those who wouldn't be terribly interested in the depth this site takes tickling have likely tickled or been tickled in their lives and have taken something good away from it. Yeah, it can be torture but in the end I'd say most tickle-efforts end up a beautiful thing whether it's a couple of friends just horsing around or two lovers wanting to draw up new and wild sensations for a joining of passion.
Forgive the length... I tend to get on poetic rants regarding the finer points of tickling. :ggrin:
I wonder how hard it would be to get a research grant for this? We of course would need a large and captive...err...varied study group.I actually recall a pretty good tickling story with a physical therapist and a pleasantly plump young woman trying to lose weight... and there was tickle-therapy involved. Sides and belly to tone the abs and love handle area, feet and knees to really get that stubborn thigh and hip area. According to that story it worked...
Personally, I say we round up a handful of 'lees who want to try it out as a toning exercise over a few months... for SCIENCE!! 😉
C'mon, 'lees... you know you want to further tickle-science :ggrin:
(disclaimer: I don't think anyone here NEEDS it. Just if you wanna try it and integrate it into a fun fitness program for those that feel that they do. 😉 )

as purely a coincidence, i simply LOVE to make people laugh. when people i know and love are happy, so am I. people tell me i'm a gentleman first and a comedian 2nd. it's just awesome that i love tickling AND love laughter. been blessed with the greatest combo.
Count me in!!:ggrin:
Yay! Our first victi--er... volunteer for SCIENCE! Thanks, Marie!
Don't worry, I'm thinking hour-long sessions of varying intensity three times a week.
We won't try for five days a week until we see results (or just figure it'll be fun).
