I was listening to a radio show I usually listen too from time to time, and the radio announcer told a story of a mother and father who.. one night the father gave the baby a zerbert on the stomach and the mother took a picture of it. When they went to have the pictures processed the photo clerk determined that the father was doing sexual things to the child and turn him over to authorities.. which he spent 6 months in prison and the child was removed from the mother until someone accutally investigated the photos and determined nothing criminal was occuring...

Sounds like a guilty-until-proven-innocent mentality was at work there. Then again, the one thing that's got to be remembered is, when the pendulum swings to that extreme, it's likely to be part of the fall-out from some case of real abuse going unreported and then leading to irreversible catastrophe. It doesn't excuse the behavior of the cowboy decision-makers, but it adds a perspective.

A Zerbert is a word used by Bill Cosby. It is also known as a raspberry. You put your mouth on someones belly and blow, making a loud vibrating fart noise against their skin. Parents do it to their kids all the time.
I swear, soon there's going to be a law saying we can't touch our children at all. We'll have to keep them in bubbles or haz-mat suits.
