I actually, coincidently bought the Daily Mail, and read the story whilst flicking through, and I actually froze. Peadophiles are predators...completely different from any fetish behaviour or anything of the sort. Peado's need to be shot dead. People with a fetish, such as people from this forum, are nothing like that. I wish I knew who sent that message, I'd have a few choice words and manoeuvres to pull on them.

It's brits like that who make us all look bad.

The comment is clearly tongue-in-cheek. Wether it is a strangled cry for attention from some fetishist, a random piece of sillyness or whatever it's not meant to be taken seriously. Also, in all the stories I've read about this bloke in the Daily Record, the Daily Mirror, the News of the World, the Guardian, the Observer and any of the other myriad papers I've seen it given column-space, the fact that he was on the sex offender's register was the focus of the story and the fact that he was ordered to sign the register for tickling an underage boy's feet is given a passing mention (if indeed it is mentioned at all). Given all that I'm finding it hard to get worried about some foot tickling fetishist witch hunt, and I'm finding it even more difficult to see how anyone could construe a story about a sex offender taking part in a talent show as some sort of negative diatribe seeking to paint all us foot/ tickling fetishists as paedophile sickos.

If I've said it once I've said it a million times, get over this stupid victim mentality please. Just because you yourself aren't comfortable with your fetish or feel that it is weird or whatever doesn't mean the rest of the world knows or cares or is seeking to victimise you for it. You're victimising yourself. Grow a spine, give yourself a slap and get on with your life.

Seems to me that the article said that it 'involved' feet tickling. Meaning, maybe there was something other stuff going on. Obviously, it was with an underage boy and it was something shady enough to get him put on the sex offender register, so...he probably deserves it.

And it is too bad it got a biased introduction into our great country 🙁

What was bad about the headlines ? ... do you see every normal person start worrying every time there's a pedophile in the papers; no of course not !

I'll say it again the fact that he was tickling someone was not the problem, the fact that he was tickling kids was !. They probably had much more on this bloke than tickling kids, but the point is that just the tickling alone was wrong in itself ! ...

I hope the authorities do take it seriously because imagine if they didn't and they had no other evidence on him apart from tickling some kid ? would you like the thought of this sick fucker still getting his kicks why the police didn't take it seriously because it's "just tickling" ? 😡

It hasn't really though. The article shines a bad light on being a sex offender and trying to enter Britain's Got Talent rather than being a foot/ tickle fetishist, plus I read in one of the papers (either the Mirror or the Record) that he was actually put on for "indecent assault" and involved tickling the feet of a 14 year old boy. I dunno, I'm just finding it difficult to see this as a "FETISHISTS ARE BAD, M'KAY?" story when it's clearly so, so not.

Tickling has hit the news today here in the UK - unfortunatly, not in a very nice or particularly helpful way!

We have a TV show here called 'Britain`s Got Talent' (which I have better things to do than watch!). A contestant who made it as far as the semi-finals has excused himself from the competition after it was revealed he is a registered sex offender.

The Daily Mail newspaper (SOURCE ) reported on Saturday that ITV had originally announced Richard Bates had pulled out due to a broken hand. But Bates later said publicly he was fine but is on the sex offender registry.

The British newspaper said Bates, aged 27, was placed on the list for three years after being convicted in connection with an indecent assault on a boy in Manchester that involved 'feet tickling'. He is to be on the list for another month.

On one of the numerous websites where this story appeared, readers have been encouraged to post responses. One user has posted the following response:

From reading comments like this, I get the feeling that the public's general view of those of us into tickling is that we are all pedophiles (which, of course, we're not!!)

I'm also quite surprised by the comment about "these feet ticklers ruining this once great country... When will the police crackdown on this new plague threatening our way of life?" - I'm surprised because it gives the impression that there are sexual predators around every corner in the UK waiting to "tickle" unsuspecting people! I very much doubt that this is the case! I for one would never even contemplate behaving in this way, and I'm sure the vast majority of those interested in tickling would agree with me.
