Earlier in the week, as I was sorting through movies since we have a lot and we're trying to catelog them to be easier to find, I discovered a movie which may or may not have led me, as a child, to delight in tickling and have affected me later in life (like... now.) It's called The Magic Trolls and the Troll Warriors. You all know the magic trolls dolls with the gemstones in their tummies, right? Well this was a movie in a series of them they did where the minute, tiny, itty bitty magic trolls that you can hold in your hand are fighting to get the kingdom back from an evil king that doesn't allow anyone to laugh or sing or be happy and his enforcer is this like evil wizard guy.

Well anyway, the magic trolls team up with the good princess whose father was banished by the evil king when he took over the kingdom, and they tickle all the bad guys. The Wizard starts to chant a spell and their bird advisor guy (can't remember his name and he's got hair like a troll so won't try to suggest a species) he says "Make a wizard laugh and you weaken his power! Tickle attack!" and they all jump on the wizard and they're like 6 inches tall so they're scrambling all over him and he starts cackling and laughing and.. well, you get the idea, I'm sure... but anyway, that's what I think contributed to my unusal (but obviously not unique!) taste for what we all seem to do best.

What do you think caused yours? A movie? A book? An overzealous best friend? ^.^

Acorna...

Very interesting! I can't say I've ever heard of magic trolls with gemstones in their tummies but it sounds like the sort of things I would have watched as a kid myself.
Personally I don't think there was any outside force that caused, brought to light, or enhanced my interest in tickling. It was there from day 1 I think. I was really weird about it as a kid. I avoided anything having to do with it at all costs because for me it was just "too weird". I didn't realize that not everyone felt the same as I did about it until I was a little older. But even now it is "weird" for me and I start feeling like a nervouse little puppy if I see it or it is mentioned. Eek! I'm terrible...
When I was a kid and a teenager the whole thing was highly sexual for me. I was sexually aware of myself from the time of my earliest memories. That has at least calmed down a bit and I can see the word in print now without swooning.
But, to answer your actual question a bit more fairly...there was a scene in an old Pippi Longstocking movie that I'm sure everyone here is quite familiar with. The bad guys, whoever they were, had the good guy who was probably Pippi's father, tied up in a cave or something. They're trying to extract some sort of information and it comes out that he is ticklish and the rest as they say is history. I have not seen it since I was a small child so pardon my bad memory but it is surprisingly sharp compared to my memory of anything else I saw on tv at that age. Of course being the freak that I am I sat there all day and rewound the tape, replaying that scene over and over and over again. Of course, only when I was alone. I'd also be lying if I told you that this didnt arouse certain "feelings" in me and I most assuredly found release to this scene (and thinking of it afterwards).
Yes...I'm warped. This is proof that I always have been.

Always been ther ein us I believe

I think that it's a natural interest we are born with, and certain stimulae simply enhance it, or bring it out. I myself can't remember a time when I suddenly just became excited by the tickling idea, but the very first time I heard mention of it, or saw something that even remotely was suggestive of tickling, I knew it excited me, fascinated me, and that hidden interest had always been there.

That's why i enjoy these forums, as it's filled with stimulae that keep that interest surfaced, and keeps me motivated to find some way to fulfill my tickling fantasy, crossing that ever so fine line between fantasy and reality!

Oh really..? What episode.. I'll look into that next time I'm at Walmart....

Er anyway. Magic trolls, I mean the little dolls that they sell, little plastic ones with big hair and they're naked and they have the plastic gemstones in their belly buttons? Anyway, I'm sure you'll see them eventually, they're everywhere..

Another one of my favorites is Disney's Alice in Wonderland. It was a recent thing, and for me, it's sort of like Ness's interest in Pippy Longstockings.. the part where she's play crochet with the Queen of Hearts and the pink flamingo thing won't cooperate and it rolls onto its back, holding her up with its feet while she has its neck.. it starts moving its feet up and down kind of quickly and she starts to squeal and laugh and beat its head against the ground telling it to stop.. I would rewind it, watch it again, rewind it, watch it again.. and I kept looking around to make sure no one was coming in the living room 'cause I was like 15 and -really- parinoid of getting caught, as if I was watching porn or something..

I know what you mean! Just sitting around with a bunch of people watching tv...something about tickling would be mentions and/or done and BAM it was like someone had switched to a naughty channel. I'm sitting there thinking...why does no one else seem weirded out by this?? Why are they acting like it's so normal?? Don't they see what's going on???
It's really not much easier for me now. But at least now I know that I really probably am the only one "weirded out" and I am able to keep my cool about it and not show that I am affected.

I -KNOW-! It's just like, it happens, and then you kind of stiffen and start to look around like "Oh God what if they notice.. am I doing something? Will they know? Will they think I'm some sort of freak?" But no one seems to notice anything of that sort when I get bored and go on a tickling rampage during Mage Knights. Once my army's dead, I tickle whoever's not taking their turn yet, lol.. I blush about it, I'm sure, but they don't seem really affected either way.

Ohh we are a strange bunch arent we? I worry about us!
I applaud you though. 🙂 That must be fun for you. I wish I got a chance like that! 🙂

As a boy, I was lucky to have a Ler for a sister. She was 6 years older than me and she used to tickle me on a daily basis.

TV shows also contributed to my obsession. There were the two Flintstones episodes and two Three stooges episodes that really sparked me. These were mentioned recently in another thread, and possibly in another forum altogether, but I'll describe them anyway.

In one Flinstones episode, it comes to the attention of the HR department at Slate Rock & Gravel that Fred Flintstone never got his high school diploma, so he has to go back to high school. Well, being somewhat embarrassed he tells Wilma simply that Mr Slate is sending him to "School," implying something like a tech school, which is exactly how Wilma interprets it. She tells her friend and neighbor Betty Rubble about it. Betty suggests to Barney that he should ask his boss to send him to school. Barney flatly refuses. Betty grabs his foot and starts tickling his foot while making him hop around the house on his free foot. "Are you going to ask him?!" She asks, and continues the tickle torture. She keeps it up for several seconds and Barney finally acquieses.

In the other Flintstones episode, the Flinstones and the Rubbles are vacationing at a beach. Pebbles buries her daddy in the sand, but then loses interest and crawls off. Fred of course bellows his patented, "WILLLLLL-MAAAAAA!!!" Wilma comes over and assesses the situation. With a mischievous grin, she says, "I think I'm going to enjoy this!" She reaches down and starts tickling Fred's bare feet. Fred bursts into his deep throaty laughter, during which he says, "If you don't stop that, I'm gonna get awful mad." A moment later Wilma hauls him out of his trap by his feet, and then chides him for being such a baby.

In an episode of The Three Stooges called "Hugs'n'Mugs," the stooges are running a furniture upholstery shop. What they don't know is that a stolen diamond necklace is hidden in the upholstery of one old chair. Three gorgeous "dames" come into the store with the intent of finding this necklace. They each take a stooge and use their feminine wiles on him, in an effort to glean information. One woman with a French accent sits on a couch next to Shemp. As she's flirting with him she's slipping her hands in and out of his shirt and vest pockets, looking for the necklace. Shemp laughs for a moment, and then says, " Oh please don't do that. I can't stand being tickled," he explains. She says, "Oh, you cannot stand to be teekle, eh?" Then she starts tickling his upper body in sincere earnest, and Shemp goes nuts! She's getting him good, reaching inside of his shirt and everything! This scene had a huge impact on me, because of the severity of the tickling. She knew he couldn't stand being tickled, and this knowlege prompted her to sadistically tickle him for a cruel duration.

In another Three Stooges episode called "Space Ship Sappy," the boys are looking for work on a ship. They answer an add and get hired, not realizing that the ship is a space ship, which lands them on another planet. While looking around, they encounter three beautiful jungle girls, who seem very sweet. From the ship's loudspeaker the Dutch professor warns the boys, "Stay avay from zose "space amazons!" Zey vill love you to death!" The stooges respond with a wave of dismal saying "pshaw, these girls couldn't hurt a fly." Of course that's the moment when each girl flings a rope around the neck of a stooge, and you see them being hauled off as the scene fades out. As the next scene fades in, you see an astounding site. Each stooge is tied to a vertical pole with his wrists tied behind him, while a pretty girl is holding and tickling a bare foot. For about a minute, the camera pans across the hysterically laughing faces of the stooges. Back at the ship, the professor's pretty daughter is watching with binoculars. She exclaims, "Father! Those girls are tickling them to death!" The scene then cuts back to a wide angle where all three can be seen enduring the sadistic tickle assault. Finally, a monster frightens the girls off, and the stooges escape back to the ship. It was a rather prolonged scene and really emphasised the torturous nature of the tickling.

I would have to say the Popeye cartoons where Olive Oyl gets tickled. The one on the pirate ship with kittens licking her feet and the one where she is hanging upside down and Bluto peels the sole of her shoe back and tickle her foot, that one I love for the torment of Olive Oyl not wanting it to tickle but not being able to resist.
