Is anyone familiar with a letter to the editor in Playboy, October, 1978, called "Lots of Laughs"? It was a story also published in Penthouse and Oui and, I think, Playgirl, all with the same theme: a guy is at home with his sister and two female friends, they drink, play strip poker, he loses, and they decide to tie him and tickle him as punishment? It was a terrific story, but, since it was published in four places it seems phony. Any thoughts?

I seem to remember hearing that people used to make extra money by writing such stories. I guess it makes sense then that the publishers would change them around a bit and use them in several publications to control costs. I always wondered if any of them were really true.

I always presumed that the stories in the letters sections of those magazines fell into three categories:
a) those written for pay
b) those that come in unsolicited, but are complete fantasies
c) those that come in unsolicited, and have some basis in fact
I may be a cynic, but I always believed that even those in the last category were embellished.
