Tickling & Tied - do you prefer the sound frantic laughter or a gagged ticklee?

While I obviously enjoy indulging in my tickle fetish both in literature and in life and in collecting many of the playfully ingenious artworks and stories here and on DA, I notice that there seem to be two camps when it comes to tickling bondage. Some draw and write about a Ticklee's head thrown back, red faced with tears spilling down her/ his face and frantic begging or silent laughter spilling out... :tickleglomp:

Others illustrate or write about a tickler being gagged do no noise can be made. :38:

So how about you ?


Personally, as a Ticklee, being forced to laugh to the point of begging and crying tears of silent laughter 😛oke2: feels far more helpless and playfully torturous than to be gagged. I guess I also equate so much of tickling's fun with the delicious sound of helpless laughter...so tickling without frantic giggling - either personally being forced or looking at an image - just doesn't do it for me. It's almost like the act of being driven to helpless hilarity increases the ticklishness.

So how about you? Do you prefer your Ticklee's gagged or laughing? And why?

I think I definitely prefer laughter to gagged. Its a whole process. The part where they aren't laughing, but slooowly losing it, the first giggles bursting out, those giggles overwhelming them until they can't do anything else but lie there weak and sensitive and overstimulated. I'm not a fan of shrieking and yelling and screaming, but laughter is definitely great.

I think my favorite would be the quiet, low, constant giggles. The kind that don't sound so bad, but are a "oh-my-god that spot is ridiculously ticklish-am I ever going to stop laughing now-all you gotta do is softly-softly scritch and I'm a pile of goo" kinda laugh.

*giggle* YES! Those are often the most unbearable...and easy to hide....especially in otherwise quiet situations where one is trying sooo hard to be still. I once was receiving an award at a black tie gala where my husband and I were hosting a table of people associated with work when he began to lightly tickle the back of my backless dress and sides during various speeches, making me strain not to laugh, shaking and biting my tongue in an attempt to distract myself via the pain, but those persistent light tickles were just so unbearable that I had tears in my eyes when I had to go up to speak! Thankfully, I was able to pass it off as being emotionally touched about receiving the award! crycry

I'm a fan of both, depending on the scenario and the intent. For all those reasons listed above, non-gagged ticklish fun is so wonderful in a musical sort of way - there's so much more color and combinations of color, the changes in pitch and levels of intensity, and of course all the different sorts of giggles, laughter, begging and (most deliciously) cursing that might come out of one's mouth. My fiancé is famous for her "one-thousand-and-one" forms of giggles and laughter, so it definitely works better with her un-gagged. :lol

But touching more on the sadistic, dominating side of a session, a good, restricting gag not only delivers that wonderful helpless sensation of the inability to beg or barter (while being tickled or tied, I love that feeling of restriction), but while on the giving end, seeing that gag stuffed snuggly between my captive's lips can be such a power trip, as much so as hearing the peals of desperate laughter. So, it goes both ways for me. ^_^

Maybe....but I was actually miffed at the time...however, that didn't stop him from taking advantage of a packed-like-sardines elevator wherein he used his size to keep me from being able to move with my back against the back wall of the elevator and his tickling hands having their way with me all the way down,.....already giggly from earlier in the evening, I couldn't help but to shake like crazy as I struggled not to laugh loudly in the cramped space next to various city leaders, other awardees, and dignitaries....the last thing I wanted was to appear like a giggly girl, and he was making it freaking dang hard not to! When we got to the car, he was cracking up as I mock-punched him lightly in the arm. Lord, I don't know how I managed to hold the giggles in that night !"

That is the best explanation as to the attraction of a gag I've ever read. While, I still don't find it appealing, Your explanation has helped me to intellectually have a better understanding if it's appeal. Although, I guess I'll always be partial to the sound of laughter!:blush

Personally I like it without the gag. Partly because of the sound of laughter, as others have mentioned, but also because I like to see the look on someone's face as they're tickled and laughing - especially if it moves between smiling, suffering, exasperation, panic, etc. Having a gag in their mouth obscures the view of that. 🙂

It depends for me. If the person is just laughing then probably gagged, but if they are talkative then I'd say with out but they have to give some substance.

Different at different times, I'd say.

On the one hand, I -love- begs. Just hearing someone say "please don't" is enough to flip me straight to sadistic ler mode, wanting to hear-and ignore-as many desperate begs as possible! Nothing turns me on more than the rush of ignoring desperate begs :blush

On the other hand, Senshi has a ball-gag that we both love! It turns me on like crazy to tickle him while I rub in he's too helpless to even beg 😉 Gags add an element of helplessness to the sub and control for the Dom in the more hardcore settings.

My last session (a week ago) was one of probably my three best experiences of my life as a ticklee, and Mistress Vivian had me tape-gagged twice throughout. So, I spent part of it able to voice my (dis)pleasure, and part of it reduced to making funny mewling noises behind the gag. Most of my vocalizations when non-gagged are pitiful "Nonononono's" and just crazy "Eep!", "Ack!", and "Gah!" sounds as I struggle to escape her fingernails, so being gagged gives her a break from my goofy noise-making. She was so relentless at my hot-spots, I went into silent laughter a couple of times, anyway.

I have to admit, JuanMiller, that your description of the various phases: "smiling, suffering, exasperation, panic, etc. " was quite a turn in just to read!:blush :blush :blush but joking aside, I agree with you that being able to either see those phases or to experience those phases adds so much to the experience. For me, as a Lee, being gagged makes things really boring because the psychological repartee between Ler and Lee is taken out if the equation and the point where one is helplessly falling into complete and utter silent laughter doesn't occur (or at least noticeably) with the gag. For me, being made to beg for mercy and given none feels far more like being forced into a submissive situation than having a gag where begging isn't part of it. Seeing the expressions of delight, indulgence and amusement on the Ler's face during ticklish torturous moments as he/she reacts to the Lee's cries of helplessness is just intoxicating!wub:blush

I don't have any experience with gagged laughter, but I personally think it would be frustrating beyond believe not to let out that sweet laughter. xD

I think the best tickling is playful. Not that punishment tickling isn't enjoyable as well. 😉 There are just so many kinds of laughter... Giggling playful kind, surprised giggles, on my zero-build up spots (the ones where literally the lightest touch has me spasming and laughing in seconds x.x), and so many more, I just love the thought of discovering them all and all the different laughters that come from each. xD

Mind you I can imagine it must be even more exhilarating- ahem I mean frustrating to HAVE to keep quiet without the help of a gag, so as neighbours or company not to hear, or the ever lovely tease of 'if you can stop/keep from laughing this can stop.' Damn I got shivers just thinking about that lol. As wonderful yet terrible a threat as it is for us lees. xD

But as a lee I just enjoy the during and after so much. From the giggling teasing spots where you try to hold it in, the frustrated chortles of laughter when it's really just NOT the right time but the ler is pushing the right buttons, teasing and just not stopping until you give in. x.x The playful laughter when you just let go and give in (any tickling I've experiences that's probably my favourite moment in the laughter when I can give in and just let it out), and then coming down from that tickle 'high' as they say and then coming down as the laughter and giggles quiet down...

Though gags I can certainly see the appeal. Especially during more adventurous play, really relishing the expressions, the struggles to beg, plead, and just let it out no matter how much you struggle... *shudders* I guess in the end it's up to the play, what you're trying out, and who your partner is in this case. 😉
