Tickling vs Pain

I don't really enjoy reading sories or watching movies/TV shows that have people being in pain - and the idea of someone being in pain is very disturbing to me. However, I love to fantasize of someone getting the soles of his/her feet tickled relentlessly for a long time.

Well, to be honest, I have seen a lot of violence, both in real-life (there was a war in my country when I was aged 3-9, and I have seen a number of people die both during the war and after it) and in movies, and after a point, it no longer amazes me. I can just as easily watch someone suffer as I can watch the paint dry... with no reaction whatsoever. I know it's not natural and I'm really insensitive (most people who know me in real-life refer to me as 'robot', with little or no emotions), but you asked for our opinions, so I'm giving you mine. My point is... tickling, pain, watching paint dry... all the same to me.

Im kinda like you. Im not a robot but ive seen so much it doesnt affect me the same way it did when i was younger. For the record, I would rather watch tickling.

I'd agree. The movie Hostel made me cringe well over 50 times. I too tend to find pain disturbing.
Pain is something you inflict in massive doses on a potential threat, so he'll stop moving and threatening you.

From my own limited experience:

Pain takes my mind immediately to a non-erotic place. It's distracting and irritating.

Tickling is, for me, even more incapacitating than pain--I can withstand mild pain much longer and more easily than I can mild tickling; my brain can fight pain, at least temporarily, but is helpless to withstand tickling even briefly. Hmmmmmm.....I am seeing a trend here. There is a fine line that is danced across when "pain" is doled out. I used to be against pain...I thought it was barbaric and all that.
