I'm currently writing a story, as some might have guessed from and earlier post, and i'm finding myself asking a question as to how much tickling content their should be vs. actual story and charactor developement. I will write the story as i see fit of course, but their will deffinitly be parts where a person could probably go ten pages of reading without any tickling or meantion of it. Their will also be parts where i have the option of making reference to the tickling or drawing it out in much more descriptive detail.

Thoughts and opinions are always welcome.

personally i like character development and details and set up...an intriguing plot leading up to the actual tickling is what i like best..but that's just me..i prefer it to the actual tickling..i just like the anticipation, the leading up to the main event, so to speak...

I say character development and plot are very important to a good story. My stories are very long because of that, but it makes the tickling that much more interesting when there's a pre-installed sense of how ticklish the victim or lee is, wheather they like being tickled or not and what brought about the situation that caused them to be tickled.

A good story now and then is great but if I buy a tickling comic or read a tickling story there should be plentiful tickling action in it. If I wanted to read a novel I'd go buy one. Not really a big fan of comics that take themselves too seriously.

I absolutely agree with the others in saying that character and plot development, be it a story or a video, are very important - if the focus of the story is a tickling experience, or several such, then these should be there, of course, but the reader should understand how and why the ticklee and the tickler came to be there.

Take it slow and easy

--- Writing is art,.. and art is allegedly supposed to mirror the quality of real life. Well, real life contains a lot of details which aren't attendant to any tickling plot,.... but overlook them and the story is flat. Attention to detail and telling us WHY characters feel and react the way they do,..... that's when it becomes art.

---Of course, this is not to say that you will not have great readership even if you decide to skip from one sensationalistic tickle scene to the next with scarcely any attention to the story. Hell,... you'll probably do better than I do with my stories.

Hi Cosmo,
Tickles to you. So, you are writing a story, and you are wondering about how to construct it? :redheart: You want to know how much non-tickling plot to include?
I always enjoy a good story. I have no idea what you have in mind. I think you should write exactly what you want to. The experience of doing it should be enjoyable for you. Don't put a lot of pressure on yourself.

Story and character development are vital. Just remember that there IS such a thing as pacing and moving things along. I find that too much beating around the bush is really boring. So, I guess what I'm saying is, set up the story and characters, but don't get mired in it, get to the action. A 5-page set up for one page of action is not cool.

Just my opinion and experience as a writer.
