I can totally tickle my own soles with fingers or other devices, but I can't bring myself to do it for more than a stroke or so. Anyone else??:wooha: :wooha:

I agree with you. I can do exactly the same. I don't know where these frequent claims that people cannot tickle themselves come from. Because of the intollerable sensation, I'm sure it's all but impossible to tickle ones self to the point of laughter - that would be an interesting exercise. But the claims are always simply that it's imposssible to tickle ones self; not so!

It's possible, although yes I agree I cannot tickle myself to the point of laughter because I pull away from myself (if that makes any sense). I can't scratch the bottom of my foot if it itches because it tickles like crazy so yes I can tickle myself. If I could only figure out how to do it so I could laugh like crazy like someone else is doing it. Perhaps they need to raise more funds for that kind of research.

I agree, BBW. Perhaps we should investigate further and give a full report.

Tickling one's self and having a real reaction is possible, unlike many think.

One time, when I was drawing, I took a break and during my break I got bored and took the pencil and traced the tip over my bare sole and my foot flenched involuntarily.

So tickling one's self IS definitely possible. Alot of people think its not because tickling one's self is premeditated and you know where you're going to be tickled and the claim is that your subconscious is already prepared to reject the ticklish sensation.

I don't know, maybe its true for SOME people, but its not to be dismissed entirely because there are many, including myself apparently, that can be tickled by their own hand and still have it be ticklish.

It is more possbily for people with mental disorders like schizophrenea to tickle themselves (there has been at least one study that I know of there). So if you can maybe you shouldn't brag about it. 😀
j/k 😛
Actually I can too, much the way ya'll described.

I can too - I think I managed to teach myself to respond ticklishly to my own touch, somehow. I can tickle myself not just on my feet, but also on my ribcage and under my arms; it has more effect when I'm half asleep (probably 'cos I'm not thinking as clearly, so the signals are less effectively blocked, or somesuch).
It's kinda cool, 'cos I don't like to be tickled by other people (my family have learned over the years not to tickle me, the hard way. I react really violently to it - I don't know why though...).
Once or twice, I dreamt about tickling someone (a random dream-person, not anyone I know), and woke up laughing, as though I was the one being tickled. Weird.... :weird:

I've found I can tickle myself, just strokes, for a little bit, but after a minute or so it stops tickling. But its true you can tickle yourself.

I'm really more of a ler so I wouldn't know. But would tickling yourself be considered a form of masturbation?
