Well the feeling would be slight indeed because, from a purely physiological sense, tickling yourself is impossible. You cannot self-stimulate the nerve ending sufficiently to cause the proper reaction.
My girlfriend can tickle herself. On her feet, her sides, anywhere. She doesn't even need a feather, all she needs is her fingers. I think it's cute. 🙂
Absolutely possible. Sometimes, if a really ticklish spot happens to itch, just scratching it can tickle. (Happens with my feet all the time.) Lightly touching your ticklish spots can also produce this, in some people, not all.
*blushes shyly* thanks... I've only recently allowed myself to accept that this is a fetish and I'm not just being childish...so I'm still sort of bashful about it...
I knew a girl who was so ticklish on her feet that she could not walk barefooted through a lawn with long grass. It sure would have been fun just to see how ticklish her feet were but I never had the chance to find out. I see from all the replies that some people can tickle themselves, I always thought that you could not do it. I guess some people just have very sensitive nerve endings especially in their feet
It's possible to tickle yourself if you know how. It's less effective when using your own fingers because you know and expect where you're gonna tickle and it lacks that element that corruptress mentioned.
It is, however, possible to tickle yourself with an object because you have less predictability on where the object will move. Try using one of those back scratches to caress your sensitive areas and you'll know what I'm talking about. 😛
I watched a TV program about it a little while ago actually. They did numerous experiments and stuff, like actually rigging a machine to brush a feather up a sole and stuff, and that seemed to work better than doing it by hand.
But what they concluded was that, while you can actually tickle yourself and get a decent response, it's better if others do it to you - and you get the best response. The reason they gave for this is a psychological one. They said that tickling is a social thing, you know? Apparently rats and chimps tickle each other to show affection. Well I don't know how that relates to the experiences of the rest of you but I know that I feel a lot nicer when tickled by someone else! Yeah, I can tickle myself but it's not half as effective as someone else tickling me.
I once rigged up a fan to tickle my feet. It was one of those old fashioned 1960s models with a grill covering the blades. I tied a tassle to the grill, turned on the fan and watched how the wind caused the tassle to fly around, safely secured to the fan's grill. I placed the fan at the foot of my bed, placed my feet by the tassle and felt a pleasant ticklish sensation. I don't know if any fans today can do that.
