I am really excited about it. But I am so sick of Tim Burton picking the same people for his films. Come on. Johnny Depp is awesome, but seriously, get a new crew. He looks great as the mad hatter though.

Alice herself is a complete unknown, that's pretty cool...most good directors have a 'crew' they love working with because they can direct them well and know what to expect from them, I love the Coen Brothers' bunch 🙂

Seriously, though, it looks very cool. My gripes on folks' take on Alice usually is only if they're too tame. And the topiary garden strikes me as a bit of sly self-reference on Burton's part ("Edward Scissorhands").

I hope the finished product will be worthy of the hype.

Funny thing about this is the timing of the movie. I just bought the kid Alice in Wonderland recently because, at 9 years old, she'd never heard of it. So now she's reading it and apparently enjoying it very much. Hopefully, she'll finish it before the movie comes out and she can see it on the big screen.

she's not a "complete" unknown.. she was in a movie called Defiance that came out last year... not a big movie, but it made her sorta known 😛

I've always enjoyed Tim Burton's style. 🙂

And Johnny Depp fits the role perfectly. He did so well in Charlie and the Chocolate Factory.

I think Burton'll definitely be able to create that darker side of the Alice in Wonderland story.

I gotta say-- I just wanna see the scenes mostly with the Cheshire Cat. That should be ace.
