Yep...it's finally happened. I've contradicted myself. I've become my own enemy.
I've paradoxed my paradox.
(Either that or I have writers block)
But any way, I've been looking up other rants about various subjects I loath. Some are very good and tactful...and some are....just plain s*** suck.
It's not that I can't understand how these ranters frustration...no far from it. It's how poorly executed and dilute their rants become. It's more like watching someone talking for a long time with nothing but...jaberjaw. I can't stand how such great potential goes to waste.

Reasons: (Cause i'm tired of stating how I will point it out)
1. Lack of emotion or just plain over-acting (movie rants): Not that I expect much from a 13 year old kid or someone in his late 30s but some ranters can act like they care more about production value than actual substance. I draw most of my experience from Video game rants (Cause I like them) on youtube. Why? Cause it's the ball park medium of production value. Almost every rant sounds either like a monotone reading of a script or a "I'm going to f***in kill you" anger. Now don't get me wrong, when it works, it works. But sometimes a angry rant doesn't fit when you rant about something with only one problem with it and elaborating on it for a lengthy period. Especially when ranters just yell at every possible moment they recorded. Then there's the other spectrum. The robot like voice, the repetitive use of the word "Now" and the stare of life sucking eyes. Really when some one rants like that, the argument just doesn't have any steam to run on.

2. Lack of facts and emphasis: Come on if someone is going to rant, will you listen to them if they just said "It sucked" over and over or if they can connect a relation to the audience? (Like now). Most rants I've seen on Youtube come off like "I'm right! Accept it". Strongest points in those arguments: "The only thing new about it are the grapics", "They should've done it like this" and "Tis is teh gay". Better rants actually provide facts like details, experience, and almost unbias commits. And yet in some rants I feel like there is a big underestimation of how bad some parts in a subject really are. Usually if I have experience on the subject at hand, I can feel rather a particular issue was expressed whole heartedly. Of course opinions vary so...meh...

3. Credibility: Honestly I hate people who have no connection between what they rant and how much they know that gives them a right to express their view. You can tell when someone is just chiming in because they had nothing better to do. Usually because they are confronted by someone with vast amounts of info and then there only response is a less than intelligent "You fail" statement. I guess ignorance is bliss.

4. Repetitiveness: Repetitiveness, repeating, again, once more....you get the idea right? Once you cover a issue that doesn't affect multiple points, there is no more say in it. But then again most ranters assist repeating cause nothing is better than filler. "The graphics suck, they could have looked better, the picture is ugly, It blinds me..."...etc.

5. Production value: On paper all you expect is words. On the internet or on camera, you need to be entertaining. You can't expect someone to sit for 5 mins while you read a paperback copy of your script. Use some clips, music, better lighting, clear images, puppets,...whatever. Just don't make me say, "Man this guy needs a girlfriend". Hell show your girlfriend in the background. At least I'll pay attention if she's hot.

7. Relativity: And please if you must rant something, please stick to the subject. Don't go off into some pointless story about how you fell into a raging river when you're ranting about something else unless it ends with the statement, "That was a lot better than (blank)".

Hey kids! If you read the ending than you just wasted 5% of brain matter and are now permantly stuck with a skewed point of view...unless you read the whole thing. Don't make me get out the beating stick! and keep off the lawn in my mind. Some of us have to imagine mowing it on saturdays.

(Timewarp's Opinion: I can't stop thinking so don't even try to stop me)
