Hmm, I've got a few. 🙂 The one that sticks out the most is my family's first trip to Kentucky. It was the spring 1997 and I was ten years old. The whole family: my grandparents, aunts, uncles, cousins, my parents, brothers, and me. The only one who couldn't go was my uncle Kevin because he was unable to take time off for the trip. We all went together for my cousin's graduation and it was the first time we visited my dad's sister's family since they moved down there during the summer of 1992. It was a long ass trip and we had a few mishaps along the way. My aunt's car died, let's see, twice. Overall it was a lot of fun. 😀

I remember being a little baby and just learning how to crawl. I kept crawling away from the TV and ontop of the vacuum cleaner while my mom was trying to vacuum the hallway and she kept getting frustrated with me and putting me back in front of the TV with my sister. Then I would crawl away again. LoL. my earliest memory. I learned to crawl about 6 months old so it would have been around then.

1.) How did you spend your Fourth of July?

Church, played softball (I know right? a fatgirl in a softball team) then immediately to work. I drove a shuttle bus taking people to the fireworks show. My view of the show was terrible, but it was nice spending it with coworkers I hadn't seen since school let out. Driving a bus through the crazy madness of traffic afterward wasn't so fun, neither was getting home just after midnight, but it was still. No 4th could ever compare to the one I had last year though.

2.) You have the opportunity to write a front page story for a major newspaper or news website. What would you write about? Writing ability doesn't matter; assume you have magically acquired great skill with the written word.

I was prolly only 3. Where we lived, we had two cataba trees in the back yard and my parents had collected several paper bags of cataba worms for fishing stapled them closed, leaving them on the floor. I remember I was eating a popsicle in my favorite chair watching the paper bags shake and roll across the shag carpeting.

1.) How did you spend your Fourth of July?

I sort of had two forth of Julys. The first one was actually on the 3rd, and my extended family and I went out to see fireworks. On the actual 4th, I had a bbq with my "closer" family and then went to the casino with my aunt.

2.) You have the opportunity to write a front page story for a major newspaper or news website. What would you write about? Writing ability doesn't matter; assume you have magically acquired great skill with the written word.

I don't know honestly...news is what's newest and freshest and I'm not exactly on top of that. Maybe about some local business that's doing good for the community/world and ways you can contribute.

3.) You are invited to teach a class at a local college or university. What would you teach, assuming you could teach anything?

I would teach a tween class on how to paint with gouache.

The time my dad was bbqing and the screen door window fogged up so I wrote "bullshit" on it and drew a little picture of a bull. They were impressed with my illustration technique and my spelling...but not much else.

7.) What is your ideal birthday? What would happen, who would you want to invite, and so on?

I'd meet a bunch of my closest friends at a restaurant in a private party area and we could laugh and b.s. and carry on for hours. Followed by, of course, a movie. Comedy preferably as I want to stay as happy as possible that day. Then we finish off at someone's house just hanging out, maybe having a bonfire. Oh and the cake is key here. It has to be cold and condensed. No light and fluffy crap.

8.) What is one guilty pleasure you partake in?

I keep the air conditioning a liiiiittler lower than I probably should. Oh yeah, and every now and again I make brownies. MMMMM

9.) What would you consider the funniest movie ever?

National Lampoons Christmas Vacation. Or I guess really...any of the OLDER Lampoon movies, not that new crap.

I dunno, ones we have already seem to cover most bases and are plenty abused in line upon line of repeat icon.

1.) How did you spend your Fourth of July?
I was at work so my coworker and I had a cookout with my consumers. We made a massively huge feast and everyone ate until they couldn't move and then went to sleep LOL No sparklers or fireworks though 🙁 Fire hazard and whatnot 🙁

2.) You have the opportunity to write a front page story for a major newspaper or news website. What would you write about? Writing ability doesn't matter; assume you have magically acquired great skill with the written word.

3.) You are invited to teach a class at a local college or university. What would you teach, assuming you could teach anything?
Smartassery 101

4.) We all have memories from childhood that are clear as a cloudless, blue sky, ones that never seem to fade, no matter how long ago they occurred. Share one of yours.
My baby sister and I were a tag-team of destruction when we were little. We used to get bunches of toilet paper, get it soaking wet and throw it up so it stuck to the ceiling. Trial and error taught us that the ones we applied soap to stuck the best, so eventually we got it down to a science. My mom would constantly be scraping these wads of mystery white crap off the ceiling, and never could figure out what they were. Finally, one fourth of July she was showing a friend of hers around who hadn't been to our house before, and when she got to the bathroom she said, "I have no idea what this is. It keeps growing on my ceiling. Maybe it's mold or something?" My baby sister was right there and said, "Oh, no Mommy, that's toilet paper. Me and Elizabeth put it there." She then proceeded to explain to our poor confused mother how wads of soapy toilet paper kept ending up on her ceiling :bwahaha:

5.) Let's pick a holiday that we are very far away from. In the Unites States, Thanksgiving is a time to sit around the dining room table with family and eat turkey. If you could, is there a dish you'd replace turkey with?

6.) Do you have a favorite hairstyle? Post a picture of it or something close to it (yourself, a model, etc) if you can.
I like the way my hair looks the day I go to the hairdresser. Other than that - nothing special. I'm thinking about changing it up, though. Maybe grow some bangs and make it lighter...I dunno...we'll find out together.

7.) What is your ideal birthday? What would happen, who would you want to invite, and so on?
The day would be nothing special. I wouldn't want my party to start until around dusk. All my lovers would join me on the beach for a big cookout/bonfire, where we'd all goof around, drink and engage in ridiculous amounts of shenanigans and tomfoolery. Then we'd take over a nearby hotel for the remainder of the evening..assuming I didn't live somewhere beachy - in which case we'd just go back to my house.

8.) What is one guilty pleasure you partake in?
iCarly

9.) What would you consider the funniest movie ever?
Oh gosh -- definitely an Adam Sandler movie. Which one...hmm...toss up between Happy Gilmore and Waterboy. (Funny People was disappointing and awful :sowrong:) I also have serious love for Superbad and Knocked Up "Fuck you, hormones! You're a crazy bitch, HORMONES!" LMAO.

2.)You have the opportunity to write a front page story for a major newspaper or news website. What would you write about? Writing ability doesn't matter; assume you have magically acquired great skill with the written word.
Celebrity News Do People Really Give a Damn? I would do a lot polling. Personally I get tired of turning on the nightly news and hearing shit about celebs. Give me some real news damnit!

3.)You are invited to teach a class at a local college or university. What would you teach, assuming you could teach anything?
I would love to be a voice teacher and have a class on Baroque Opera.

4.)We all have memories from childhood that are clear as a cloudless, blue sky, ones that never seem to fade, no matter how long ago they occurred. Share one of yours.
Mine is sitting on the kitchen counter as a little girl intently watching my grandma making bake goods. I would stick my finger in the batter when she turned her back. It taught me everything I know about baking. My friends call me Paula Deen. My grandma is still alive and kicking. She is 83 and my grandpa is 84. They have been married for 60 years!

5.)Let's pick a holiday that we are very far away from. In the Unites States, Thanksgiving is a time to sit around the dining room table with family and eat turkey. If you could, is there a dish you'd replace turkey with?
Tofurky. I know it sounds crazy, but last Thanksgiving I had one with my vegetarian sister. I thought it tasted great!

6.)Do you have a favorite hairstyle? Post a picture of it or something close to it (yourself, a model, etc) if you can.
This is the cut I've been getting for a while now. A 1920s wavy bob with side bangs. My hair natural dries like this.

7.)What is your ideal birthday? What would happen, who would you want to invite, and so on? Close friends, mall shopping, lots of booze, and old horror movies.

8.)What is one guilty pleasure you partake in?
Eating a lot of sweets. Mostly Baked goods I made myself or my grandma made.

9.)What would you consider the funniest movie ever?
I thought 8 Crazy Nights the animated movie with Adam Sandler was funny.

...and suddenly we were gods! 😛

1.) How did you spend your Fourth of July?
Doesn't really apply. Posted a status update on Facebook wishing a good day to my American friends, but then I just went about my day as usual.

2.) You have the opportunity to write a front page story for a major newspaper or news website. What would you write about? Writing ability doesn't matter; assume you have magically acquired great skill with the written word.
I would probably write about the emerging, federalized police states of the western world. E.g. the EU initiative to install trojans in people's computer for monitoring purposes, or the Swedish FRA Law. It's basically an untapped goldmine, so...

3.) You are invited to teach a class at a local college or university. What would you teach, assuming you could teach anything?
The media culture in the United States. It's a subject that I personally find very interesting, and most Swedes don't seem to be very well aware of even the basics of it. They do know that Fox News has major integrity issues (by which I mean that they convey a political narrative, rather than reporting objectively on the news), but people don't know what MSNBC is, or that they arguably have similar problems. Then there's CNN, that most people don't know squat about, and when it comes to newspapers and the radio... people might have HEARD of the New York Times, the Washington Post and Rush Limbaugh, but they only know enough to recognize the names.

4.) We all have memories from childhood that are clear as a cloudless, blue sky, ones that never seem to fade, no matter how long ago they occurred. Share one of yours.
When I blew up my first Yule Goat 😀 It went up in flames, there wasn't a straw left... LOL, those were the days!

Also when I created a home-made rifle out of a hollow floorball stick. It worked, too!

5.) Let's pick a holiday that we are very far away from. In the Unites States, Thanksgiving is a time to sit around the dining room table with family and eat turkey. If you could, is there a dish you'd replace turkey with?
Hmmm... Pizza?

6.) Do you have a favorite hairstyle? Post a picture of it or something close to it (yourself, a model, etc) if you can.
Not into that sort of stuff. I guess I prefer to keep my hair long, but that's about it.

7.) What is your ideal birthday? What would happen, who would you want to invite, and so on?
I really don't know. Would be fun to celebrate with some TMF'ers though I guess, since I've never done that before.

8.) What is one guilty pleasure you partake in?
Does tickling the crap out of unsuspecting 'lees count? :jester:

9.) What would you consider the funniest movie ever?
No idea, comedies aren't really my thing. Fight Club was fucking funny though. xD

10.) Post an emoticon you'd like to see added to the forum.
We need an ironic smiley, so:
ssst.gif

A problem for me sometimes is that I find I can't express myself enough when talking shit, so I end up not posting it because I KNOW someone will actually think I'm serious. The 😉 smiley just isn't enough, and neither are the 😛 or :neenerneener: smilies sometimes. Depends on the content of what you're posting, sometimes the latter two would just take away from what was supposed to be funny with it.
