Got my first Credit Card bill. Responsibility here I come.
If I burn the card how will I pay for my Internet when I get my own place? Or how will I develop a Credit Raiting so I can get a house one day if I want to?
Be very careful how you use it, and pay the balance in full every month. It's real easy to whip out that piece of plastic, it's not "real money" afterall, or so many seem to think. When the piper must be paid, it is another story. Intrest payments and late payment charges can eat you alive.
This.
If you want a decent credit rating, you need to have a few active tradelines. Do just what Bugman said: Use it a little bit each month, set money aside to cover what you've spent, and pay the damn thing off in full each billing cycle. Use the card, don't let the card use you. If this is your first bit of credit, then a 12 month history of paying as agreed will do wonders for your ability to obtain more and cheaper credit in the future.
Finally, don't bother with cash advances, they'll kill you.

In this economy?? Are you serious??
With enough money down, you can buy anything you want around here!
But follow everyone's advice--burn the card now while you still can!! It's not worth it!
